Position Summary Under general supervision, but according to established policies and procedures, assists Senior Credit Review Officer in connection with commercial loan credit review activity. Develops and analyzes various credit information pertaining to diversified types of commercial loans, spreads financial statements and prepares credit underwriting for lenders and committees, prepares reports for Senior Credit Review Officer or committees, maintains control over credit requirements of current accounts, assists in administration of bank's credit scoring system, and provides any other assistance to the Senior Credit Review Officer as directed. Also provides information and assistance to the Senior Loan Officers Committee and the Board of Directors on commercial credit issues as requested. Essential Requirements, Duties, and Responsibilities Develops credit information for use by Loan Officers or committees in making lending decisions on new, renewal and extension commercial loans:Reviews all pertinent credit and financial information, including, but not limited to, financial records, reporting services, credit bureaus, and bank files.Determines the need for more thorough investigation or additional information, and contacts appropriate sources for such information. May accompany loan officers on client visitations as requested.Prepares spreadsheets and financial information for all commercial credits.Analyzes financial statements and related material.Prepares summaries, presents facts, and offers opinions concerning credit-worthiness to Loan Officers and/or committees.Researches pertinent industry information relevant to clients using any and all data sources available to the bank.Assists in the administration of the Bank's credit scoring system.Reviews appraisals and other conditions prior to loan closing.Periodically reviews all credit, loan and collateral files to ensure that information is current and reports any inconsistencies to the Senior Credit Review Officer. Assists in monitoring files to assure that up-to-date financial statements, accounts receivable, agings, and other items are available from bank clients as required by the loan documents.Keeps loan officers informed as situations warrant regarding the credit quality of existing clients.Provides management with necessary reports to supplement review and control of the entire loan portfolio. Confers with Management relative to problems and/or concerns on unfavorable credit patterns of clients.Seeks and proposes new ways to continuously improve the quality of output from all members of Credit Review..Review other analysts work below SLOC level.Manage the worklog/assign new deals in absence of Senior Commercial Credit Review Officer.Assist in development of Departmental procedures.Understands the Bank's BSA/AML Policy, including satisfactory completion of required annual BSA/AML training as applicable to position and appropriately applying this knowledge to daily activities and responsibilities, specifically understanding that any suspicious activity must be reported to the BSA Officer immediately. Educational & Other RequirementsCollege education required; Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or Accounting preferredMinimum of 7 years of experience as a Commercial Credit Analyst, or equivalentExperience analyzing complex of credits and deals of at least $2,500,000.Proven ability to successfully work with and understand financial statements to include balance sheet, income statement, cash flow and tax return analysisStrong, well developed inter-personal skills in order to assist with business contacts and develop working relationships with potential and current commercial clients with the utmost professionalismMust possess satisfactory command of English language (ie grammar, sentence structure, etc.) in both written and verbal communicationProficient with PC based financial analysis software including but not limited to Microsoft Word and Excel, credit scoring software, and spreadsheet software Willing to expand educational experiences/learn new procedures and computer software as neededExperience using the internet to gather pertinent information preferredThink critically and accurately communicate results of analysis in writingInteract effectively and communicate with clients via telephone, e-mail and in person in a professional mannerInteract effectively with co-workers and other bank employees in a professional mannerRead and understand computer generated reportsEffectively operate and understand the Bank's computer system and print screens from the computer terminalRecognize, evaluate and resolve problemsWrite information on various input forms and report formsPull apart and work with computer generated reportsOpen envelopes, remove and process contents from postal mail and inter-office mailStand at credit and document filing cabinets in vault to gain access to filesStrong analytical ability with attention and detailIncumbent must travel throughout the Bank's service area to provide support to commercial loan staff on an as needed basisMust be bondable.
