Overview: BigBear.ai is seeking a Healthcare Data EngineerLead to join our Healthcare Professional Services team. As a Healthcare Data Engineer Lead, you will oversee and manage FutureFlowRx projects from conception through deployment, and lead a team. FutureFlowRX is a real-time, forward-looking patient census prediction and forecasting tool that allows nurse managers and staff planners to know in advance the most likely hospital census and patient placement over both short- and long-term horizons. This position will work closely with the data analytics teams at hospitals. The ideal candidate will be comfortable engaging with both the business and technical teams as you will have exposure to multiple hospitals and hospital networks, coupled with the ability to directly influence client success, satisfaction, and retention. This position is a remote work opportunity for candidates in the continental USA with occasional onsite in the Columbia, MD and/or Chantilly, VA offices. Estimated travel is 20% to client hospital sites. What you will do: Collaborate and communicate with Stakeholders, Product Owners, Quality Assurance, and other teams in an agile work environment, including but not limited to design meetings, planning, stand ups, & retrospectives.Extensive communication with hospital personnel utilizing project management experience. Translate business and functional requirements into technical specifications and delivery plans.Develop, validate, and apply algorithms and predictive models to streamline patient flow, investigate problems, detect patterns, and recommend solutions.Collect and query data to perform analysis and provide reporting as needed by various departments for insight and support for decision making.Perform data analysis required to troubleshoot data related issues and assist in the resolution of data and customer issues.Collaborate with other BigBear.ai departments to design and launch new features. What you need to have: Minimum of 8 years of experience in a Data Engineering roleMasters degree in Computer Science, Healthcare Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems, or another quantitative field; or a Bachelors degree in one of these fields plus an MBA.Experience with Electronic Medical Records systems such as EPIC or Cerner.Experience designing, testing and implementing data pipelines Proficiency in SQL programmingAbility to manage small teams with diverse skill sets Excellent collaboration, innovation, and problem-solving skills.Ability to engage with both the business and technical teams of a client - to document and explain technical problems or concepts concisely What we'd like you to have: At least 10 years of experience in a Data Engineering roleSimulation modeling experience with ProModel, MedModel or Process Simulator softwareProficiency in at least one programming language (C#, Python, etc.) and experience writing code to handle data manipulation, scheduling, event-based triggering, and automation tasks.Experience with PowerBI or reporting in workbench with EPIC.Ability to architect solutions on AWS and/or other clouds and design for appropriate scales as our company grows About BigBear.ai: BigBear.ai delivers AI-powered analytics and cyber engineering solutions to support mission-critical operations and decision-making in complex, real-world environments.
