TEGNA is looking for a creative and intellectually curious Senior Manager to join our B2B ad sales marketing team, known as TEGNA Marketing Solutions. This leader will oversee and execute data storytelling support for the company's sales organization, including our national sales team and local account executives at each of our 64 TV stations across 51 markets across the country. This role will help us continually identify industry and customer trends and translate this data into insights with strategic recommendations. A passion for understanding consumer behavior and uncovering trends in data is a must, as is the ability to transform complex data sets into digestible findings. Responsibilities: Continuously socialize and keep abreast of trends related to consumer behavior, demographics, media consumption, advertising technology, and key verticals Lead the creation of compelling data stories and insights-based sales collateral, leveraging research from both internal and external sources, to help TEGNA seize our most valuable and important revenue opportunities and answer the ever-critical question, "So what?" Consult, influence, and guide both TMS and key cross-functional stakeholders to make customer-centric decisions that address evolving customer and business needs. Your influence will help spark original ideas and actionable strategies. Collaborate with TEGNA sales, local account executives, and client strategists to integrate insights into TEGNA's overall B2B marketing strategy via client requests (RFPs), proactive campaign ideas, and market opportunities. Partner with external vendors to deploy original research via consumer surveys that can be transformed into white papers and/or ebooks Participate as needed in station, client, and/or internal TEGNA meetings and presentations Identify new research tools/solutions and manage 3rd party vendor relationships where applicable Requirements: 7+ years of experience in marketing strategy, research, or data analytics Intimate understanding of what a great insight looks like and how to get there Highly analytical & critical thinker who loves to problem-solve Ability to synthesize and clearly communicate complex findings to focus on the critical implications and actionable opportunities Excellent communication, planning, and time management skills Exposure to, and familiarity with, syndicated research tools such as MRI-Simmons, Nielsen Scarborough, or similar Basic knowledge of data visualization best practices and tools like Microsoft Excel/PowerPoint and Tableau Strong bias for action Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines, as well as the ability to influence both vertically and horizontally Previous experience working with TV and/or Digital Media sales is a plus Strong business acumen Travel: Rarely: less than 10% Work Environment Set: Office: normally performed in a typical interior/office environment Physical Demands Set: Sedentary work: Involves sitting most of the time; walking, lifting, bending, standing, etc. About TEGNA TEGNA Inc.
