The company designs and delivers comprehensive procurement and solar investment solutions for businesses, municipalities, and institutions empowering them to achieve their sustainability goals and positively impact their community.NCS is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our growing team and assist with the company's accounting and financial reporting operations. This role will report directly to the Controller and will support the team by performing and coordinating accounting duties within the Company. The Senior Accountant's responsibilities include preparing financial reports, performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, assisting with audit preparations, training junior staff and performing other accounting duties as assigned. To be successful as a senior accountant, the candidate should have a solid working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and strong financial analysis skills. An outstanding Senior Accountant should also possess strong Excel skills, be detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to work with little to no supervision and perform under pressure.Job Duties and Responsibilities:Coordinating accounting functions across various business unitsPreparing monthly journal entries and reviewing monthly journal entries of junior staff to ensure monthly close is performed timely and accurately substantiatedPreparing financial analyses and reportsMaintaining and reconciling balance sheet and general ledger accountsPreparation of billings in accordance with contractual billing milestonesAssisting with annual audit preparationsAssist & coordinate special projects within the accounting group or as part of cross-functional departments Investigating and resolving audit findings, account discrepancies and issues of non-complianceContributing to the development of new or amended accounting systems, processes, and proceduresPerforming other accounting duties and supporting junior staff as required or assignedMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance2-4 years of accounting experience preferredWorking knowledge of tax laws Strong Understanding of US GAAPProficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with ExcelStrong financial analysis skillsStrong organizational and stress management skillsAbility to train and manage staffAbility to work with little to no supervisionFull-time availabilityVaccinated and boosted for COVID-19Must be able to legally work in the US Preferred Experience:2-4 years of accounting experience1-2 years of project accounting experience gained in solar, construction, or related industriesWorking knowledge of tax lawsProven understanding of US GAAP with a foundational understanding of accounting for long-term contracts under a percentage complete basis.Strong verbal and written communication skillsUnderstanding of cash and accrual and multi-entity accountingBasic understanding of solar technology and project financing
