POSITION SUMMARY Works independently and/or with supervisor to determine the potential risk and profitability of business loans. Responsible for recommending, underwriting and processing Secured business loans and VISA credit cards (up to $50K) and Unsecured loans and VISA credit cards (up to $25K). Responsible for analyzing and monitoring the credit worthiness of the Credit Union's business clientele. Analyzes financial statements, tax returns, credit bureau reports, cash flow and bank references to evaluate the financial condition of individuals and businesses applying for credit with the Credit Union. Follows the established Credit Union policies, procedures and applicable laws and regulations. Responsible for learning and assisting with implementation of new business loan and deposit systems. Takes lead on the online business lending system and small business administration loans. Keeps up to date with all regulatory requirements for small business lending and business checking. Complies with REG B regulations regarding Adverse Action criteria on all loans. Monitors and reviews monthly VISA delinquency reports and VISA annual renewal reports. Responsible for tracking and validating Quick Decision Lending Process for implementation. Maintains and updates procedures/processes on all facets of lending in this department. Maintains and updates the Disaster Recovery Program. Responsible for financial statement collection of maturing loans and annual reviews in the portfolio. Contacts members regarding past due payments. Responsible for providing support in clearing documentation exceptions and other administrative tasks. Prepares analysis and reports in response to new and additional credit proposals and annual reviews for loan officers and committees as needed. EDUCATION Bachelors Degree in Business Preferred CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSURES MBL Lending Courses State of Maryland - Required EXPERIENCE Five (5) years or more years Commercial Lending Preferred One (1) year or more Consumer Lending Preferred Five (5) years or more Strong Commercial Analyst Experience Required ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE Progressive lending experience in a financial institution. Extensive knowledge of commercial, mortgage and consumer origination documentation and servicing. QUALIFICATIONS/ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS Proficient in the use of PCs and related applications (Microsoft and Excel). Must be able to work independently and perform analytical and mathematical calculations. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to perform multiple and varied tasks. May at times require evening and weekend hours. Responsible for updates on regulatory changes with business banking deposits and loans. PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this position, the successful candidate is regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers to handle objects, tools, keyboards or controls; talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms and stoop or kneel. Must regularly lift and/or move files and equipment up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 25 pound objects. Specific vision characteristics required by this position include close vision, adjust focus, and view a computer screen for extended periods of time.
