Senior Software Engineer, Full Stack (Remote-Eligible)

We are seeking a Full Stack Engineer to support our enterprise use of service virtualization!

Our team provides self-service Service Virtualization creation and consumption across the Capital One Enterprise. In doing so, our team works with cutting edge cloud native architecture that utilizes ECS, Load Balancing, and Auto Scaling to meet the demand of our customers. You will have the opportunity to interact with all areas within Capital One, while helping software delivery teams solve complex testing problems to deliver reliable solutions faster. As this product matures at Capital One, you will have the opportunity to influence design decisions that have a large impact on delivering code that changes Banking for Good.

The solutions we work on comprise of foundational software delivery services that help shape the future of Capital One with support of our strategic objectives. We focus on developer experience, managing success for our customer products and portfolios, and creating experiences that enable associates to deliver on Capital One's mission.

What You'll Do:
  • Collaborate with and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions in full-stack development tools and technologies
  • Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, and mentoring other members of the engineering community
  • Collaborate with digital product managers, and deliver robust cloud-based solutions that drive powerful experiences to help millions of Americans achieve financial empowerment
  • Utilize programming languages like Java, Python, SQL, GroovyRuby and Go, Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, automation tooling including Jenkins, monitoring services such as NewRelic, CM tools including Ansible and Terraform, and a variety of AWS tools and services
  • Assisting in building out the management API layer for the platform
  • Collaborating with external teams to define requirements and plan work
  • Ensuring vulnerabilities are well managed through process, tooling, and automation improvements
  • Contributing improvements to our existing cloud based architecture
  • Designing and implementing new automation pipelines and processes

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience (Internship experience does not apply)

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in at least one of the following: JavaScript (VueJS and/or NodeJS), SQL, Python, or Go
  • 3+ years of experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • 3+ years of experience with containerization tools, preferably Kubernetes or Docker
  • 2+ years of experience with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
