Duties

  • Serves as project leader in the development of agency and/or interagency policy, procedures, regulations and supervisory guidance.
  • Develops capital regulations and interpretations governing credit risk and bank regulatory capital.
  • Evaluates complex securities and develops recommended actions for purposes of safety and soundness.
  • Performs financial and economic analyses to identify sources of capital markets risk in financial institution that must be measured and/or monitored by the regulatory agencies.
  • Keeps abreast of trends and developments in the field of finance, economics and law related to financial institutions. Keeps abreast of trends and developments in portfolio management and trading strategies utilized by financial institutions.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Additional qualifications information can be found here .

CG-14: To qualify, applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the grade 13 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience performing complex financial or economic analyses related to credit risk in a financial institution environment, the loss absorbing properties of capital instruments issued by financial institutions or assisting in the development of, or analysis and compliance with regulations governing credit risk in the financial markets or bank regulatory capital.

CG-15: To qualify, applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the grade 14 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience performing complex financial or economic analyses to identify and evaluate sources of credit risk in a financial institution environment, the loss absorbing properties of capital instruments issued by financial institutions or taking a leadership role in the development of, or analysis and compliance with, regulations governing credit risk in the financial markets or bank regulatory capital.
