Duties

  • You will perform analysis on matters concerning Nuclear Command, Control and Communications (NC3).
  • You will assist in the preparation of directives and operating procedures to improve the effectiveness of strategic communication and connectivity.
  • You will assist with the review of Submarine Communications to ensure compliance with NAVSTRAT requirements.
  • You will assist with the development and validation of Submarine Force requirements.
  • You will provide expert advice as it relates to strategic communications matters in regard to policy, procedures, and requirements.
  • You will function as a senior analyst in support of all Nuclear Control and Communication with specific knowledge on submarine communication systems.
  • You will manage and maintain situational awareness of NC3 activities.
  • You will draft all required reports on NC3 to Higher Headquarters (HHQ).
  • You will assist in the management of the USFF Navy Nuclear Deterrence Mission self-assessment program.
  • You will conduct NC3 coordination duties at Unclassified, Secret, and Top Secret levels in the spaces assigned.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.


Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
  • Experience applying advanced knowledge of and skill for the implementation of warfighting operational requirements in support of major acquisition programs of record to provide meaningful consultation to Department of the Navy leadership.
  • Experience applying knowledge of Navy Nuclear Command, Control and Communication (NC3) requirements and programs for the sustainment of Strategic Nuclear afloat and shore Commands.
  • Experience applying knowledge of submarine force communication systems to ensure compliance with NAVSTRAT requirements.
  • Experience overseeing employment of methods and practices for recovering, adjusting, modifying, and improving IT systems sufficient to evaluate system performance of hardware, system software and applications programs.
  • Experience applying cyber security concepts to improve the cyber security posture of the NC3 mission and systems.
