Duties
This position focuses on developing and providing oversight of national level programs for the FAA's Science Technology Engineering and Math Aviation and Space Education (STEM AVSED) program; supports corporate leadership and horizontal integration of STEM AVSED activities; supports development of briefing and policy documents; and various special projects associated with the ARA-100 organization.
Performs multiple, varying, and complex assignments under the minimal direction of a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced professional. May act as a contributing specialist on large work activities or as a project manager or team leader for large projects/programs/activities.
Provides staff support to the Manager, Aviation Workforce and Development Division on a variety of STEM AVSED related matters. Prepares, assembles and edits various materials related to STEM AVSED program which may include briefing materials, presentations, talking points, publications, speeches, reports, and similar information.
Participates in organizational performance and business planning. Develops, implements, tracks, and manages the ARA-100 Business Plan. Advises and consults on FAA Strategic and ARA goals to develop and track progress on business plans and provides input on future plans and efforts related to their execution.
Develops and provides leadership and oversight to national level STEM AVSED programs in support of the FAA STEM AVSED Strategic Plan.
Contacts are internal and external. May act as a point of contact to provide advice and guidance on the applications of policies and procedures. May be called upon to communicate FAA positions on policies and procedures internally and externally. Develops and maintains partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to include LOBs/SOs, FAA program offices, industry, academia and governmental agencies
Actively participates in activities related to the cross-agency governance of the FAA's STEM AVSED program.
Collaborates and works closely with the Manager, Aviation Workforce and Education Division and other staff on similar work products and requests to accomplish program objectives, additionally provides backup support as needed.
Independently plans time. Identifies, plans, and organizes available resources to accomplish projects/programs/activities. Makes optimal use of resources to complete activities within established schedules. Ensures prompt response and appropriate level of follow-through.
Work is reviewed rarely, typically though status reports and at project completion, to ensure policy compliance and alignment with the requirements of projects and/or other work activities.
Work activities typically impact directly on the objectives of one or more organizational units, major subdivisions, and/or LOB's/SO's and may affect the objectives of the FAA. In some specialties, the work often affects internal and external customers.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-H, FG/GS-12 level. This experience is typically related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been at least equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.
