Duties

  • You will review work order requirements reflecting systems, parts, and assemblies to be repaired, modified, or installed.
  • You will troubleshoot HVAC/R systems with complex problems and extensive repairs requiring judgment to locate malfunctions.
  • You will diagnose by visual and audible examination of equipment, by application of prescribed test procedures, and by exploration of probable reasons for equipment failure.
  • You will perform installation, repair, and maintenance of large commercial and industrial heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), and cooling systems with complex problems and extensive repairs.
  • You will perform installations, modifications, overhauls, repairs, and maintenance on a variety of complex HVAC/R equipment.
  • You will perform essential electrical work incidental to the maintenance and operation of HVAC/R systems.
  • You will perform preventive maintenance on HVAC/R systems and equipment.

  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • You will be required to possess and maintain a current valid United States driver?s license.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a CFC/NCFC Certification (universal) as required by 40 CFR Part 82, Subpart F., EPA.
  • You will be required to train/ guide lower graded (or other trades) military/ civilian employee.

The normal tour of duty for this position is 2nd shift 15:00 to 23:30 to include weekends and/or holidays.

This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
