Duties

  • You will serve as an Information Assurance Manager:? IAMs perform work that involves the certification and accreditation of IT systems and are the subject matter experts for all information assurance matters.
  • You will ensure the security features practices, procedures and architecture for the information systems are accurate and mediate and enforce all security policies.
  • You will ensure the security posture of the Automated Information System is maintained according to current security directives.
  • You will conduct scans on systems to be accredited to determine compliance with regulations, reviews threats and vulnerabilities to assess risks, and determine effective risk mitigation measures.
  • You will prepare, distribute, and maintain plans, instructions, guidance, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) on the security and continuity of automated systems operations.

  • This is a Defense Acquisition Workforce position. Employee must be able to obtain and maintain an Engineering and Technical Management (ETM), Practitioner acquisition certification within 60 months in accordance with DoD Instruction 5000.66.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.


Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. Your resume is the key means we have for evaluating your skills, knowledge, and abilities as they relate to this position. Therefore, we encourage you to be clear and specific when describing your experience. Your resume must show: I have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined:

1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: staying abreast of the latest technological advances and anticipating the effects of new technologies on the strategic plans for IT programs.

2. Customer Service - Establishes customer alliances, anticipates and fulfills costumers needs and translates costumers needs to program/projects. Interacts independently and proactively with customers to identify and define complex/difficult problems and to develop and implement strategies or techniques for resolving problems (e.g., determining priorities and resolving conflict among customer's requirements).

3. Oral Communication - Communications are clear, concise and at the appropriate level. Flexibility, adaptability, and decisiveness are exercised appropriately. Communicates project or program results to all levels, internally and externally. Reviews and approves, or is a major contributor to/lead author of, management reports or contractual documents for external distribution. Provides inputs to policies, presents briefings to obtain consensus/approval.

4. Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves highly complex problems not susceptible to treatment by accepted methods. Develops, integrates, and implements solutions to diverse, highly complex problems across multiple areas and disciplines. Anticipates problems, develops sounds solutions and action plans to ensure program/mission accomplishment. Develops plans and techniques to fit new situations to improve overall program and policies. Establishes precedents in application of problem- solving techniques to enhance existing processes.

In addition to the experience demonstrating the four competencies above, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-11) grade level or (NH-02) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Working with test and evaluation of acquisition programs across all phases of the acquisition lifecycle; and demonstrating experience in applying Information Technology (IT) principles and practices.
