Duties

Serves as a Administrative Officer providing administrative support to the Mechanical Sciences Division. Oversee, execute, document, and maintain records for all human resource activities for the Division, such as hiring actions, personnel actions/RPAs, awards (on-the-spot, special act, honorary, other special awards such as the annual modeling and simulation award), pay for performance, training, CASE packages, new employee indoctrination/orientation (including entering them into systems to quickly and efficiently help them become productive (for example EIS, CPOL, TED), and familiarizing them with administrative requirements and processes), and employee out-processing; maintain an organized record of HR actions and forms, and other files as relevant and applicable to the position of admin officer for the Division; maintain awareness of new directives and instructions regarding administrative practices and clerical procedures and disseminate as appropriate; exchange information with the Branch admins in a timely and accurate manner; serve as Division GPC holder for micro-purchases and training; manage the AXOL database manager; coordinate with division financial cell.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) developing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and tracking procedures for the other administrative personnel to follow in support of staff members in order to standardize procedures within the organization; (2) Utilizing a variety of computer and web-based software tools to retrieve/input data, create correspondence and provide relevant information to management; and (3) Advising management on administrative matters to include training, awards, travel, agreements, personnel and manpower management.

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business, Management or Human Resources.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages
