Duties

As a Education and Training Technician at the GS-1702-7/8/9 some of your typical work assignments may include:
  • Administratively manages training programs to include: registering students; in and out-processing of students; producing diplomas/certificates for graduation; verifying and transferring student academic grades; preparing various student rosters and accolades; issuing and accounting for student badges; and providing transcripts for DINFOS alumni.
  • Provides professional customer service responses to inquiries that are made in writing, over the phone, via email or in person.
  • Incumbent is thoroughly familiar with the assigned school courses, special prerequisites and appropriate coordination points of contact to include user agencies and DINFOS staff elements.
  • Assists with providing data for training quality indicator reports to the Registrar, Provost, and School leadership on trends, historical data regarding student inputs, graduations, attrition, average student loads and other student data, as directed by the supervisor.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS-07, if you fulfill the following qualifications:

A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service:
  • Experience in assisting with monitoring course enrollments and prerequisites; gathering statistical data through specific and detailed guidelines and assists with preparing various reports; and administratively manages training programs to include: registering students; in and out processing of students; producing diplomas/certificates for graduation; verifying and transferring student academic grades; preparing various student rosters and accolades; issuing and accounting for student badges; and providing transcripts with supervision.
You may qualify at the GS-08, if you fulfill the following qualifications:

One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service:
  • Experience in student in-processing, registration, out-processing, and graduation; assists with
    monitoring course enrollments and prerequisites; and provides professional customer service
    responses to inquiries that are made in writing, over the phone, via email or in person with supervision.

You may qualify at the GS-09, if you fulfill the following qualifications:

One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-08 grade level in the Federal service:

Experience in monitoring course enrollments and prerequisites; provides inputs in management systems; entering class dates in the database management systems under supervision; providing data for training quality indicator reports to the Registrar, Provost, and School leadership on trends, historical data regarding student inputs, graduations, attrition, average student loads and other student data.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
