Duties

As an IT SPECIALIST (APPSW), you will:
- Evaluating new applications software technologies for evolving, important missions.
- Translating complex systems requirements, such as program lifecycle processes, application and quantitative analysis, into applications prototypes.
- Planning and designing systems architectures based on vendor Software as a Service (SaaS) platform.
- Working with computer-adept customers to test novel and innovative applications.
- Assuring new software and systems quality and functionality throughout agency operations.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized Experience: For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience includes:
-Determining and designing customized applications architecture such as developing plans, schedules, resource needs, and quality standards for enterprise business systems; AND
-Conveying business processes and system requirements to technical and non-technical audiences orally and in writing; AND
-Programing web-based applications in a Microsoft Windows environment; AND
-Experience in at least two (2) of the following relational database management system (RDBMS) related skills:
Extract, transform, load (ETL) development with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) or other RDBMS
SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) report development
Stored procedure development
Transact-SQL (T-SQL) syntax

In addition to specialized experience, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.1. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
