Summary: Anchor Construction Corporation seeks a dynamic bilingual Purchasing Agent to join our team. This position will report to the Shop Manager and is responsible for purchasing, tracking, and distributing equipment and construction materials.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Receive written requisitions for materials and equipment from project managers and/or field operations.Review and source materials and equipment in accordance with established company practices and procedures.Solicit quotations from vendors. Review, analyze and present findings to management with emphasis on best economic value and defined company procurement objectives.Generate purchase orders through the company purchasing system.Responsible for the tracking and expediting of all orders.Review materials upon receipt for accuracy. Enter materials into the inventory system.Support estimating department by contacting vendors for budgetary quotations for materials and equipment in the preparation of bids.Solicit and prepare submittal documentation in support of project management.Coordinate and document supplier certificates of compliance with project managers.Perform additional duties as directed by the Yard Manager.Manage small team 1-3 direct employeesWork directly with the foreman, superintendents as well as project management team.Rent and or purchase heavy equipment as well as construction-related vehicles.NOTE: These duties listed are meant to describe the general scope of the work. Other duties may be assigned based on business needs within the organization.Required Qualifications:Must be 18 years of ageHigh school diploma/GED preferredMinimum 3-5 years of experience purchasing and or selling materialMust be fluent in both Spanish and EnglishAbility to work overtime as requiredStrong knowledge in sourcing materials for both wet and dry utilitiesComfort working in a high-stress environmentThe ideal candidate would be detail oriented and well-organized.Capable with the utilization of Microsoft Office products especially excel.Ability to work independently or as an active member of a teamAnchor Construction is an Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
