Senior Credit Analyst - Government Services (Virginia)

Overview: Assumes responsibility for assisting in the efficient and effective oversight of underwriting of credit risk and account maintenance for borrowing clients of the Defense & Government Services Banking group, including and especially projection modeling, monitoring reporting requirements, verifying Borrowing Base and Covenant Compliance certificates, and working with the team and the Credit Department to assure complete and accurate underwriting and input into the Navigator loan system. The Sr. Credit Analyst will be part of a small team and their responsibilities will range from administrative to complex underwriting, including M cash flow sensitivity analysis. The Sr. Credit Analyst will participate in presentations to Sr. Loan Committee and other credit approvers as appropriate. **Role will be based in Tyson's Corner/McLean VA.** Responsibilities: Develops and analyzes all types of credit information on all types of loans, particularly the larger and more complex relationships. Works directly with lending officers to accept and prioritize work requests. Logs work requests to assist in the preparation of weekly and monthly department management reports. Reviews all pertinent credit and financial information, and requests additional information from the loan officer and or customer if necessary. Spreads financial statements using Bank software. Generates and evaluates financial ratios to foresee future credit risks. Analyzes financial statements and related material including the preparation of comparisons with similar companies within the Banks portfolio. Prepares deposit and loan summaries on customer relationships. Prepares cash flow projections on each borrower, guarantor, and contingent liability. Develops global cash flow projections that comprehensively address all sources and uses of cash available to service debt. Stress tests cash flow assumptions. Analyze rent rolls and lease agreements and complete a Property Operating Analysis. Reviews loan documentation to assess compliance with loan covenants and loan agreements. Assesses risk of complete credit relationship including borrower, related entities, guarantors, and contingent liabilities. Verifies compliance with Regulation B, Regulation O, and the Bank's commercial lending policies. Compiles financial related data on comparable companies to develop industry matrixes. Prepares customer relationship profitability summaries using Bank software. Prepares a written summary, presenting facts and offering opinion concerning credit worthiness to loan officers and or loan committees. Has attended Beyond the Fundamentals credit training and incorporates techniques learned into analyses. Prepares higher level of sensitivity analysis with stressing of a multitude of variables that drive revenue and cash flow projections. Gathers appropriate information to complete loan presentations to be presented to loan officer and or Regional Loan Committees. Identifies any exceptions to loan policies. Presents and defends loan presentation recommendations at regional analyst meetings.Provides assistance to loan officers Accompanies loan officers and participates in all types of customer calls, and in some occasions, write a memo outlining the details of the call. Ensures that all credit files are kept current with the latest financial statements. Researches and prepares specific industry information to inform the loan officer and benefit the customer. When necessary, analyzes relationship profitability reports to help determine appropriate pricing for prospective loans. Assists loan officers to prepare for customer meetings by preparing a list of questions and a packet of customer related information loan and deposit update, industry matrix, prior memos and presentations, industry data, . As needed, prepares checklist of required financial information in preparation for customer meetings.Assumes responsibility for assisting in the efficient and effective operation of the Credit Department Ensures that all operating policies and procedures are followed. On a rotating basis, acts as secretary for Local or Regional Loan Committees. On a rotating basis, updates and maintains customer commitment reports, completes file work, and submits risk rating changes. Plans for and participates in credit related discussion topics at regional analyst meetings. Develops an expertise in specific industries and provides help and training to other analysts and loan officers within those industries. Helps gather information required by bank examiners and internal audit. Makes recommendations regarding improved operating systems and procedures. Works with the Credit Training Officer to educate and mentor Management Trainees and newer Credit Analysts regarding analysis and technical skills. May assist in training in a higher and more formal capacity such as by instructing financial and or lending courses for the benefit of analysts or other departments. Qualifications: EducationBachelor Degree or the equivalent experience. Specialty: Accounting, business administration, or finance. (Required)Experience3 or more years Analytics.
