Description: Do you have experience performing systems engineering on complex systems? Would you like to help define and architect crucial weapons systems for our military? If so, we are looking for someone like you to join our team at APL! We are seeking a highly dynamic and creative Systems Engineer to work the Tomahawk Weapon System to engage with staff from APL, the Government, and other contractors to assess current performance and influence missile system development. As a member of our team you will represent APL to provide direct systems engineering support to the sponsor and to coordinate engineering activities with APL team members. Your contributions will help us transform data into knowledge, enabling decision makers to make informed choices on the future direction of the program.As a Weapons Systems Engineering Lead, your primary responsibilities will be to Perform systems engineering activities such as developing requirements and interfaces, identifying trade studies, planning and executing tests, and assessing risks.Work with government sponsor, industry, academic, and government laboratory staff to conduct research, trade studies, and engineering analyses to identify and apply promising emerging technologies to advanced weapon systems applications.Effectively communicate proposed concepts and analysis directly to our sponsors. Produce reports that bring together concept definitions, requirements, analysis results, and technical recommendations. Qualifications: You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you Have a Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Operations Research/Applied Mathematics, Engineering, Physical Science or another related field.Have at least ten years of relevant experience in systems engineering principles and practices enabling significant contributions and leadership related to weapon systems development.Are highly skilled in early concept development and performing assessments that take into account cost, schedule, and performance criteria.Have strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to interact with sponsor representatives.Have the ability and willingness to travel to work with prime contractors and Government Labs and to provide technical advice during new system development/system modifications.Are able to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by your start date and can ultimately obtain a Top Secret level clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include US citizenship.Can demonstrate that you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. You 'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you Have knowledge and experience with Planning, Programming and Budgeting, Acquisition Process/Lifecycle, Research and Development, Test and Evaluation systems of DoD Systems.Hold an active Top Secret clearance or above.
