Our leadership has a vision driven by innovation-innovations that start with our associates in Maryland and are helping patients around the world.Associate Director, Integrated Marketing CommunicationsJob Description Summary:As the lead for the IDS Integrated Marketing Communications function, this position takes a leadership role in the development and implementation of best-in-class, strategic marketing communications plans for all IDS initiatives, drives execution of both internal and external communications inclusive of public relations and social media, digital marketing and customer communications, trade shows and events. This role manages a MarCom associate team to effectively execute communication plans.This role is responsible for maintaining ongoing relationships with Corporate Communications teams, IDS Marketing LT, Global and Regional Marketers, Sales Enablement teams, and to ensure that MarCom plans and deliverables are aligned with corporate, IDS, and US regional marketing objectives and strategies, including the development and standardization of brand positioning, content creation, core messages, regionally-specific segmented value propositions, and strategically relevant marketing claims.Ensures compliance to BD Quality/Regulatory/Legal and MarCom operational policies and procedures. Individual is responsible for expense management, and for the accurate reporting of budgets and mROI on a regular basis.Job DescriptionLead the development and execution of annual strategic communication plans, with market shaping plans that extend beyond a single year - this effort includes collaborating with IDS Marketing platform leads and US IDS Marketing LT, and global MarCom associates to align with and to support our marketing objectives and business goals.Function as liaison with internal and external communication services to drive strategic priorities and tactical execution - this includes leading cross functional teams, eg creative agencies, marcom and marketing associates, etc.Develop/Guide recommendations for most effective marketing mix to deliver on business objectives by program.Lead the consolidation of the marketing communications calendar across US IDS to understand ensure alignment of touchpoints with customers across stake holders.Drive standardization of brand messaging, positioning and core value offers across the region that ladder up to overarching solutions (ie One IDS, BSI, etc ). Rationalize, coordinate & rebrand existing US collateral as necessary across brochures, photo shoot, claims, approvals, printing, etcDevelop creative briefs as necessary and review creative concepts to ensure effective alignment with business goals, marketing objectives and BD brand identity. Facilitate constructive dialogue between marketing stakeholders and creative services driving greater on-target execution, reducing unnecessary rework, and optimizing budget expenditures.Develop and execute US region tradeshow and event strategy and execution- including communication strategies and lead viable tactics that deliver measurable results.Stay informed about competitive environment and healthcare trends impacting our industry, partnering across US Platform marketing team, marketing operations, analytics, sales enablement, and medical affairs & clinical solutions.Stay current on new and cutting-edge communication technologies and channels. Develop and maintain a pool of reliable, highly skilled creative services agenciesEnsure compliance to BD Quality and Regulatory requirements and adherence to MarCom standards and procedures.Optimize the accessibility of support materials for field facing teams.Manage assigned communications budget by overseeing the processing and reporting of all expenses.Proactively share best practices and learnings with peers and broader commercial teamDirectly manage and develop marketing communications associatesRequirementsRequires 7-10 years medical industry integrated communications experience with a minimum of five years management experience.Experience with digital marketing in healthcare industryExperience in a regulated industry with BD or in the IDS products desirable.Bachelor's degree required in related field, ie Communications and/or Marketing. Master's degree preferred.Experience in communications planning, working with creative agencies, development of positioning & messaging, including sales messaging/white board development, managing print production, photo and video shoots, and design projects is mandatory.Ability to travel 25%For certain roles at BD, employment is contingent upon the Company's receipt of sufficient proof that you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
