We don't settle until we give our best and know that we're making a difference.As part of Jacobs' Operation Management and Facilities Services (OMFS) group you'll join our collaborative team as a Project Manager for VDOT projects in Virginia.You'll leverage your strong business acumen to lead a team in project delivery, and client relationship development. Most importantly, you'll take action to ensure commitment to safety, sustainability, innovation, and the health and well-being of you and your team. Additional job responsibilities:Monitors work sites and ensures adherence to safe work practices and procedures; follows safety procedures, reports unsafe activities and conditions, utilizes safety equipment, and monitors work environment to ensure the safety of employees, contractor's employees and citizens.Enforce all contractual obligations, and attend project related meetings.Communicates with management, employees, other departments, other government agencies, contractors, as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange information, or resolve problems.Bring your team-focus, adaptability, and commitment to excellence, and we'll help you grow what drives you - and deliver the world's most challenging Operations Management projects, together.**This position is Contingent on Award of projectHere's What You'll Need:*BS degree in engineering and advanced experience leading a team in transportation project delivery and client relationship development*Profession Engineer (PE) license*Experience with project finances and balancing budgets*Experience with managing work order management, scheduling, and quality assurance and control.*Ability to assemble information and make written reports and documents in a concise, clear and effective manner*Ability to use independent judgment as situations warrant.*Strong interpersonal relationship skills with the ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other employees,, contractors, and suppliers.*Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point*Ability to travel 10% of the time*Valid driver's license Ideally, You'll Also Have:*Advanced degree in engineering and/or business*Strong client relationship skills*Ability to coordinate multiple deadlines while working with and/or directing staff at all levels*Experience in field services managing maintenance contractors who install, repair, and maintain traffic lights, fiber optic cable and newly installed smart County components.*Capability to use TMC system software, closed loop system software, camera operations software and other various computer mapping and database applications relating to intelligent transportation systems*Considerable knowledge of communications systems including basic construction and repair techniques, methods, equipment and tools, electrical circuits, and schematics.*Understanding of standards of traffic control principles, the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, and equipment necessary for the performance of duties.*Knowledge of traffic and transportation practices, including emergency operations, as necessary in the completion of daily responsibilities*Experience working with VDOT
