Job DescriptionThe Human Resources and Administrative Manager (HRAM) supports employees and executes all HR processes, as well as limited facilities and IT duties, with support from one assistant. Incumbent will manage recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, training, performance management, DEI initiatives, policies and procedures, HR systems and data management. They will also oversee the front desk, office management, and IT vendor. While this is a senior position, reporting to the EVP of Administration and Finance, this is a hands-on job focused on getting things done every day. The position requires operational knowledge of all HR functions - including what each involves, how they work, and what types of issues come up. Previous experience providing HR services as a solo practitioner in a small organization will be useful preparation for this challenge.The ideal candidate will help create and maintain an environment to attract, develop and retain top talent by understanding Gryphon's culture, addressing employee questions and concerns, driving process improvements and keeping the back office running smoothly. This role requires a systems view of human resources and operations in general - with the need for human resource planning and understanding the intention and direction set by leadership.Human ResourcesProvideleadership for the company's human resource efforts includingunderstanding the firm's growth trajectory, forecasting HR needs,recognizing patterns and trends, and ensuring workforce developmentthrough planning, training, support.Identifyrecruiting needs through labor plan analysis and outreach to practiceleaders.Leadrecruiting, onboarding and orientation activities; support and evolve thedesired company culture while improving processes that deliver effectiveoperations. Overseeall aspects of a robust employee benefits program, including "shopping forplans," open enrollment, vendor management, employee communications,payroll deductions, and problem resolution. Provideassistance to employees in understanding company policies and procedures;enhance and develop new policies as the company evolves. Respondto employee questions and concerns; resolve employee relations issues.Incollaboration with company managers, assess training needs and overseedevelopment of training programs; ensure compliance with federallymandated trainings.Managethe performance management program, that includes on-going feedback,performance improvement efforts, progressive discipline, and an annualreview cycle; support and coach supervisors in the delivery of performancemanagement efforts. Attendand participate in employee performance discussions, disciplinarymeetings, and terminations; ensure proper documentation and adherence tolegal requirements. Overseecompany compliance with federal, state and local employment laws,including policy development, tracking and reporting.Maintaincomplete and accurate HR data; recommend and implement approved HRISimprovements and new systems as needed.Serveas the administrative team representative on the company Diversity,Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) team, and support the team in efforts toenhance DEI in hiring, workplace culture, and proposal and projectexecution. AdministrationSupervisecoordination of logistical IT support efforts, such as computerdistribution and trouble ticket monitoring and interfacing with IT vendor;maintain the employee intranet.Overseeoffice to ensure smooth operations, including front desk, orderingsupplies, distributing mail, maintaining security procedures, facilitycleaning, space planning, upgrading furniture and fixtures, etc.Managelandlord negotiations for office renovation, problem resolution and leaserenewals.Superviseone HR and Administration Assistant who provides support across allfunctions. Coordinategeneral administrative support for company leadership as needed. RequirementsRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's degree, with a preference for humanresources or a closely related field.5+ years of HR management experience, ideally in asmall business.Experience with an HRIS; experience with Bamboo andUnanet a plus.Ability to communicate with all levels of employeesand leadership through one-on-one sessions, team meetings, polishedpresentations and email; ability to write complicated policies in aneasily understood format. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with theability to prioritize and multitask efficiently Impeccable judgement in providing advice and counselto employees and leadership. Team player who is receptive to others' input andideas, while being able to drive the correction solutions through to newpolicies and procedures.Experience as the sole HR person responsible for theentire department. Familiarity with IT and security policies andprocedures. Knowledge of federal contracting would be a bonus Desired QualificationsPrior employment as the sole HR person responsible for the entiredepartment.
