Job Summary: The Senior Director, Regional Projects manages the team and provides overall strategy and direction for successful delivery of projects and programs to the IBX site operations team and customers. Also responsible for execution and implementation of globally defined programs/portfolios. Lead with effective management of time, money, and human resources to define, implement and operationalize global, regional, and local projects and programs. Ultimate responsibility for managing project/program risk. Scope is mainly capital focused but will include other Opex and administrative programs. Responsibilities: Provides overall leadership, strategy, and direction across team, and ensures the team's growth is in alignment with business needsSets functional and development objectives for managers/team membersProvides leadership and direction for the business functionWhere required will advise the team on stakeholder managementSeeks opportunities to build effective stakeholder relationships on behalf of the teamEncourages feedback and has stakeholder knowledge of function and manages expectationsCreates and drives stakeholder communications and manages any escalationsResponsible for overseeing a team withs multiple and broad communication responsibilitiesIn tune with executive communication needsChallenges the team and others to find a balance between effective communications whilst pragmatic with volume, frequency, and/or contentIs the highest-level escalation point within the team for complex issuesChallenges the team to ensure lateral thinking and information is fully analyzed to achieve resolutionWhere necessary, may refer and escalate outside of immediate teamMay direct multiple teams that are responsible for delivery of site customer & infrastructure projects and company-wide strategic programsDelivers on time, on budget and with the required qualityDrives direction of strategy and ensures alignment to business needsDrives multiple project and program management business professionalsIs responsible for delivery of companywide strategic programs/portfoliosPartners with leadership to set KPI's and metricsAccountable for resource planning management (people, finances, vendor bids, etc.) across the project teamsInfluences, defines, and effectively communicated project management methodology and its application to customer solutions, customer orders, capital/infrastructure projects and company programsLeadership Characteristics of the Role: 10+ years of team management experience, preferable with project teamsPrevious experience working within a matrix type of organizations/global environmentAbility to derive team's roadmap, activity, and priorities out of numerous stakeholders/ expectations/needsDemonstrates and instills the Equinix culture and valuesKnowledge and Experience: Track record of influencing and collaborating with senior business leaderStrong Program Management background (certification preferred)Full mastery of standardized program/project management tools and practicesExtensive knowledge of the processes and systems that underpin the data center business and more specifically the Equinix way to operatePrevious experience with Customer Projects (Cage and Strategic/GAM Customers)Previous experience with Infrastructure Projects (Cyclical Replacement/Upgrade) eg less that $10Mil (UPS, Chiller, CRAC, Cabling backbone, etc.)Previous experience with Company-wide Programs execution / implementationPrevious experience with Vendor Cost Management & Costing Support to sales eg Cabs, Cage build, Security, Cabling Infrastructure, and custom requirements excluding Facility R & Utilities costSkills and Attributes: Exhibit overall strong business acumenCreative, high energy, self-starter comfortable running programs independentlySolid presentation, analytical, and interpersonal skillsHistory of using strong communication skills across multiple departmentsKnows how to organize resources to effectively manage concurrent requests from an array of customers (internal and external)Equinix is an equal opportunity employer.
