Vice President, Growth - Citizen Security & Public Services Sector
Responsibilities: Peraton is seeking a Vice President of Growth who will lead business development and capture efforts for our Citizen Security & Public Services Sector, which includes the shaping of a strategy to expand our footprint in the Federal Civilian market, with a focus on DHS, DOS, State & Local and various other federal civilian agencies. The successful candidate is responsible for leading a team of business development and capture professionals in the identification, development, qualification, prioritization and capture of new opportunities as well as supporting on-going business re-competes. This person will act as a 'player-coach' who will not only lead and develop a team of Growth professionals, but also meet customers and partners and actively participate in key captures and proposals. The successful candidate will have proven experience leading BD and capture teams as well as experience in the identification and qualification of large opportunities, excellent industry/customer knowledge, a demonstrated track record of success leading large capture and growth initiatives, and proven success in winning large and complex solutions opportunities. ResponsibilitiesWork closely with the Sector executives to support growth of the overall pipeline and provide support to the capture activities for large business pursuits.Support organic growth of the business through engagement with program managers and government customers.Develop and executive call plans to promote Peraton capabilities and identify opportunities to generate on-contract growth across Federal Civilian and State and Local programs.Lead high priority, large business pursuits from assessment through proposal. Provide hands-on BD management for all aspects of the pursuit, capture and proposal execution.Understanding of competitive intelligence and market analysis to provide deep customer understanding, in-depth competitor knowledge, and increased market awareness. Using competitive intel to understand customer's explicit and implicit needs. And leveraging competitive intel to identify, develop, qualify, and ultimately win new business through competitive advantage.Leading the development of strategies and tactical actions that result in a robust pipeline of qualified and actionable opportunities in the Federal Civilian and State and Local markets. Proven track record of creating an opportunity pipeline that resulted in winning large scale new programs ($250M+) within the marketLeading business development activities associated with identification, qualification, capture, and bid activities including defining win strategies, creating teaming plans, and identifying competitive discriminatorsEnvisioning the interfaces, interdependencies, and activities between multiple programs and captures at the line of business and/or capability portfolio level Qualifications: Required QualificationsBachelor's degree and 20+ years of experience (or Masters and 18+) with at least 10 years being in the private sector supporting DHS, DOS, State and Local, and other federal civilian agencies.An active Secret clearance with the ability to move to Top Secret.A strong understanding of the Civilian Agencies mission and operations with relevant industry and government relationships.Experience developing corporate wide growth strategies and strategic plans to grow with the Federal Civilian markets.Proven experience in business development and capture management, supporting the development of opportunity pipelines and leading captures of $250M+.A demonstrated track record of winning new business.Excellent communications skills are required as are good interpersonal skills and an ability to inspire confidence and provide the business development leadership to the Citizen Security and Public Services Sector.Strong leadership characteristics including developing and communicating a strategic vision and motivating and influencing others to achieve that vision.High levels of professional curiosity and an innate desire to learn about customers, their environment, and their challenges.A bias for action and an orientation toward solving rather than identifying problem areas.Full accountability for results.Highest standards of integrity, honesty, team-work and the ability to motivate teams to the highest levels of commitment and personal effort.
