Job ID: 103619 Area of Interest: Professionals Location: Baltimore,MD USHours of Work: M-F, 8a-4p Job Facility: UM Rehabilitation & Orthopaedic Institute Employment Type: Full Time Shift: DAYWhat You Will Do: Under general supervision, the PAS Operation Analyst is responsible for performing various analytical, operational, project management, and reporting tasks to facilitate and enhance the effective performance of the revenue cycle process focusing on Patient Access and Patient Scheduling. This position participates and supports revenue cycle leadership and staff with analyzing, redesigning, and implementing process improvements and new programs. Specific areas of focus are productivity, budgeting, and key performance indicators. The position will use data from multiple sources and be responsible for developing and maintaining multiple operational reports. Principal Responsibilities and Tasks The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by the person assigned to this classification. They are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all job duties performed by personnel so classified. Responsible for Denial Management coordination and reporting. Working with internal and corporate departments and payors to research denials, provide requested follow-up data, and develop consistent reporting to leadership. Work within multiple reporting systems to help produce goals to meet the UMMS PAS denial reduction plan. Knowledge of state and federal regulations relative to the confidentiality and security of patient health information. Regulatory Compliance with Key Performance Indicators, including auditing and reporting outcomes to management. Oversee Revenue Charge Capture Integrity reporting. Communicate outstanding issues to management and resolve them when appropriate. Responsible for analyzing, testing, and implementing new systems software upgrade changes to PAS team members. Identify system failure and report to UMMS Helpdesk. Maintain insurance payor plan data matrix and attend regular payor meetings. Prepares other ad hoc reporting needs to maintain PAS operations and meet department goals. What You Need to Be Successful: Education & Experience A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited College or University with major work in Accounting, Finance, Healthcare or Business administration or a related field A minimum of three years of relevant experience with hospital patient access capacity, the healthcare revenue cycle process, project management, EPIC data mining, and SQL database reporting is required. Cognito/ EPIC certified/credentialed workbench familiarity and BI Launchpad/Tableau experience preferred. Knowledge and Strong detail analytical skills and excellent written and verbal skills. The ability to interpret and explain data and trends to others is required. Ability to work with mathematical and accounting concepts and apply advanced math skills. Ability to use personal computers and related software to include expertise with Microsoft applications, particularly Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Visio. Ability to learn specific software applications is required. Ability to operate routine office equipment. Highly effective written and verbal communication skills are necessary to work with clerical and professional medical staff.
