Job DescriptionThe Vice President, New Business Development is responsible for leading and managing the new business sales efforts of Avendra. This role requires both directly overseeing the integrated sales approach, as well as executing, when required, parts of it (eg key customer sales efforts).The job will require working cross-functionally with Marketing, Discovery, Analytics, Implementation, Strategic Sourcing and Customer Care to deliver superior value propositions to prospective customers, with solutions that are executable by Avendra's internal stakeholders. The ability to continuously improve the entire sales processes to the next level of performance is a core part of this role.Position Reports to SVP - Avendra HospitalityNumber of Direct/Indirect Reports ~8Job Responsibilities*Business Development Strategy Development - Developing, determining and improving approaches to address new market segments, shifting customer needs, changing market demographics or other shifts in the market landscape*Business Development Leadership - Managing the sales force, participate in certain important sales efforts, coordinate the use of other company resources in the support of business development, and communicate sales status, issues, and other critical information to Executives*Sales Process Leadership - Bring market knowledge, process expertise and thought leadership to the overall sales processoResponsibilities range from continuously moving the sales and sales support processes forward by adjusting and continuously improving the discovery process for increased effectiveness and efficiencyoWork with Avendra's eCommerce, Marketing and Supply partners to develop integrated procurement solutions (where client need dictates) *Value Proposition Execution - For highly complex sales opportunities, directly lead and structure information for presentation of findings and improvement opportunitiesoEnsure tools and processes are executed thoroughly and consistently to deliver superior results (ie, highly valued by customers and internally as an input for decision-making and relationship management)oDevelop and oversee development of high-quality deliverables (including analytical findings) for customer and internal stakeholder presentation*Project Planning and Management - Responsible for the planning and management of resources for all business development-related activitiesoThis includes developing the marketing plan for new business, synthesizing customer prospect lists, setting specific sales targets, customizing work plans for specific accounts, tracking progress against task completion and managing/focusing Avendra, Customer and Supplier resources to achieve superior results*Pipeline Management - Maintaining and appropriately prioritizing the pipeline of sales prospects and discoveriesoThis includes establishing methods and tools to facilitate visibility of prospects in each stage of the sales process, forecasting of the pipeline, and effective communication and partnering with Executive Leadership to prioritize projectsPrimary Competencies*Planning and Organization*Effective Written and Oral Communications*Influencing Others*Organizational Acumen (M3 and above)*Strategic Perspective (M3 and above)*Market Focus (M3 and above)Supervisory Competencies *Valuing and Managing Differences*Performance Management*Managerial Courage*Development *Leadership Agility QualificationsOther Duties.Please note this role description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive list of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required for this job.Duties, responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice.Work Environment.This job operates in an office setting.This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This is largely a sedentary role with some light lifting of files possibly needed.Role Requirements *Experience in conceptualizing, producing and delivering presentations.Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively*Strong understanding of procurement related technology applications*High level of both written and spoken communication skills to a variety of audiences (internal and external) at various levels of an organization*Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and transition between multiple projects concurrently.*Highly-developed analytical and project management skillsOvernight Travel Requirements.Type: All modes of transportation, percentage 50-75%, length: 3-5 nights Years of Relevant Experience.15 or more years of experienceEducation Requirements.BS/BA in relevant field or equivalent years' experience.
