The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) is seeking a Director, Community Management Support to manage volunteer boards and committees, and to support the management and implementation of their initiatives. The director's primary responsibility is logistical support of the council and committee work of seven niche homebuilding industry segment councils and a NAHB Education Design Board. The director will work with volunteer councils, committees, and senior staff to showcase NAHB as a leading voice in the respective industry segments, and NAHB Councils as the place within the association that delivers superior member services for industry segments and local councils. Responsibilities: Develops and coordinates the schedule for meetings of assigned councils, committees, and boards and effectively communicates those with appropriate staff and members. Supports the Assistant Vice President to provide strategic direction to the committees of seven niche homebuilding industry segment councils. Handles logistical support to the governance and volunteer leadership project team members, manager(s), and/or director(s). For example: scheduling conference calls, preparing, organizing, distributing, and posting or mailing materials, responding to routine procedural requests, etc. Ensures the NAHB Councils membership is adequately informed on industry segment issues. Qualifications: Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written. Experience leading volunteers, and ability to build consensus and teams. Experience in executing marketing and strategic plans. Basic knowledge of the residential construction industry. Ability to quickly assimilate industry information to represent the issues. Confident leader of virtual meetings. A minimum of five years of demonstrated experience in staff and volunteer management, and project management and development. Background in motivating teams to achieve goals and grow programs and revenue. Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
