Responsibilities Systems Administrator - GISA Europe I2TS Seeking candidates to support the US Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM). Under the I2TS-Next task order, INSCOM ensures reliable, uninterrupted availability of Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Information Management (C4IM) including: networks, hardware, software, engineering, and specialized tools at the point of customer need to support INSCOMs mission. INSCOM and its MSCs provide the enabling layer to connect the Army and its tactical formations to defense and national intelligence agencies via tactical networks. The ability to provide mission critical intelligence is dependent on the successful use of its information technology (IT) networks worldwide. Responsibilities & Qualifications RESPONSIBILITIES * Recognized subject matter expert in job area typically through advanced education and work experience. * Develop advanced technical solutions for the management of software, hardware, configurations, and architectures. * Provide interpretation to systems matters that are highly complex in nature. * Provide troubleshooting support for system hardware and software issues that are highly difficult in scope. * Develop training materials for end user training on the proper use of hardware and software. * Develop implementation plans for basic software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages. * Provide guidance, coach, and advise less experienced personnel on the monitoring and tuning of systems to achieve optimum performance levels. * Advise less experienced personnel on workstation/server data integrity matters and the implementation of standard software and hardware solutions. * Lead complex data/media recoverability following a schedule of system backups and database archive operations. * Use advanced techniques in hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines. * Help to develop performance and security plan for computer systems that meet the needs of network users. * Establish operational plans. * Manage large projects which will have medium to large impact on the organization. * Work performed is critical to the organization. * Use advanced knowledge in evaluating and assessing existing network systems and planning long-term strategies. * May serve as a team or task leader. * Problems faced are difficult and often complex. Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS * 10+ years of related experience and a Bachelors Degree or 12+ years of related experience and a Associates Degree * DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II Computing Environment (CE) Certification as determined by the Program Manager is required prior to support on contract (Microsoft MCSA or equivalent) * Required Security Environment Certification: CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent * Communication skills to effectively interface with military officials, managers, and subordinates * US Citizen * Minimum Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility Desired Skills / Experience * Knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in network and systems administration and support * Knowledge of related hardware and software * Linux and Microsoft OS knowledge WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of the job.
