Come be a part of our mission. Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSP) is looking for you to join our team as a Principal Systems Engineer/Sr Principal Systems Engineer based out of Fairfax, VA. What You'll get to Do: Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. This position can be filled as a Level 3 or a Level 4 based on the qualifications below. Basic Qualifications for Principal (Level 3): * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other STEM related degree with 5 + years of experience; 3 years with a Master's or 9 years of experience in lieu of a degree. * Active TS/SCI or TS with SCI eligibility, and willingness to sit for a poly security clearance * Experience with JIRA * Experience in gathering requirements, leading exercises or demonstrations. * Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) * Maintain existing operations procedures up-to-date to also include lessons learned from real-time performance. * Develop new procedures as required. * Interface with program and customer personnel. * Hands on experience developing and performing real-time executable mission plans. * Familiarity with Mission Operations Centers architectures and interfaces. * Strong written and oral communications skillsBasic Qualifications for Sr Principal (Level 4): * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other STEM related degree with 9 + years of experience; 7 years with a Master's; 4 years with a PhD; or 13 years of experience in lieu of a degree. * Active TS/SCI or TS with SCI eligibility, and willingness to sit for a poly security clearance * Experience with JIRA * Experience in gathering requirements, leading exercises or demonstrations. * Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) * Maintain existing operations procedures up-to-date to also include lessons learned from real-time performance. * Develop new procedures as required. * Interface with program and customer personnel. * Hands on experience developing and performing real-time executable mission plans. * Familiarity with Mission Operations Centers architectures and interfaces. * Strong written and oral communications skillsPreferred Qualifications: * Active TS/SCI with poly * Experience in working with multiple subcontractors * Execution lead of exercises and demonstrations * Proficient using STK software (Systems Tool Kit, formerly called Satellite Tool Kit). * Detailed familiarity with space system operational documentation. * Mentor newer members of the operations team. Salary Range: $101,400 USD - $152,200 USD Salary Range 2: $125,800 USD - $188,600 USD Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
