Position Overview: Under general supervision, the Inventory Specialist receives/ships, stores, issues, controls and maintains an inventory and calibration record (as required) of tools, materials (including perishable goods), parts, and equipment in support of program requirements. This position performs both manual and clerical duties in the receipt, storage, issuing, and shipping (secure and unsecure) of materials, supplies, parts, tools, and equipment from the central warehouse. Incumbents are expected to possess demonstrated knowledge of warehouse operations, procedures, standards, materials, and supplies to include HAZMAT. Primary/Major Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions): * Receives deliveries of ordered materials/parts and verifies delivery items received against packing slips and purchase orders. * Enters receipts of goods into appropriate systems. * Coordinates the return of damaged, or incorrect items. * Segregates/Stores parts/materials by delivery location, means of travel, and by type. * Conducts regular cyclic inventories of all static and outbound materials, tools, and equipment to include, but not limited to: company owned, Government Furnished Equipment (GFE), and awaiting shipment components. * Validates inventory, invoices and researches and resolves discrepancies or refers them to management for further action. * Works with 3rd party warehouse personnel to ensure program parts/materials are properly prepared and shipped within applicable regulations for shipment to OCONUS locations. * Provide inventories, goods receipts, shipping updates, and other relevant information as directed. * Issues and returns to stock company and GFE issued items upon employee departure. * Maintains accurate calibration records of applicable equipment and personal protective equipment as well as leads program calibration efforts to include inventory management, inspection/testing, data entry/reporting, and repair/replacement requirements. * Other duties as assigned. Physical Demands and Work Environment: * The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use their hands to handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. Frequent pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds and work within a warehouse and office environment. The employee must be able to visually identify hazards within the place of work and be able to effectively hear well enough to hold a conversation with others by telephone and/or face-to-face with moderate background noise levels. * The work environment characteristics described herein are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this position. The warehouse environment is conditioned space; however, the employee may experience increased heat and humidity levels while performing work in this environment. Deliverables: * Daily order tracking status for a variety of records * Weekly Inventory Log * Monthly Inventory Log * Program equipment shipping status * Other duties as assigned to fulfil contract requirements REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: Education Requirements: * High School Diploma with four years' experience of progressive responsibility in warehousing, storeroom operations, or inventory control roles; or * Associates in business related field (preferred) with two years' experience of progressive responsibility in warehousing, storeroom operations, or inventory control roles (preferred). Required Qualifications: * Knowledge, methods, practices, supplies, tools and equipment used in the construction, maintenance and repair of utilities and facilities. * Packaging, shipping, receiving, quality assurance inspection, warehousing, inventory control and physical inventory practices, procedures, methods, and techniques. * Work practices and safety, security, health and sanitation procedures relevant to the storage, distribution, and calibration of materials, supplies, and equipment. * Recordkeeping and filing systems. * Proper lifting techniques. * Safety policies and safe work practices applicable to work performed in a warehouse environment. * Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel. * Attention to detail Skills and Abilities: * Work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision. * Implement inventory control procedures. * Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel. * Attention to detail. * Accurately inspect incoming shipment bills of material against purchase orders. * Perform physical inventories accurately and efficiently. * Effective problem-solving abilities: evaluate alternatives and recommend or adopt effective courses of action. * Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. * Understand and follow written and oral instructions. * Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all those encountered in the course of work. Licensing and Clearance Requirements: * Valid State Driver's License. * International Air Transporters Association Dangerous Goods Regulations (IATA DGR) certification (preferred). Active Top Secret Clearance is preferred. At minimum, an active Secret Clearance with the ability to complete a background investigation to upgrade clearance level to Top Secret.
