Job Announcement

Serves as full performance Information/Cyber Security Analyst with responsibilities to include the implementation and administration of cyber security tools and systems, administering access controls, monitoring and performing associated analytics and other activities to support IT Security operations and ensure enterprise-wide IT environment and systems performance and resiliency. The duties include monitoring threats, deploying, administering and supporting security systems such as host endpoint protection, data loss prevention, network-based intrusion detection and prevention systems, application layer firewalls, vulnerability management technologies and forensics utilities, and other infrastructure deployed and maintained by DIT and the Information Security Office (ISO). Coordinates with Agency Information Security Coordinators and IT Analysts, and responds to agency inquiries. Assist with fulfilling legal preservation and Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and other data requests. The position requires the utmost integrity, judgment and discretion in carrying out duties and handling sensitive matters. Incumbent in position is subject to criminal and financial background checks and possible other national law enforcement investigations in order to perform the duties of this position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to the following:

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in a computer or information science discipline, IT/cyber security, network or IT systems administration, engineering; or a bachelor's degree in a business or related field that has been supplemented by at least 18 credit hours of intermediate computer science coursework; plus one year of experience in information security systems, network security, or cyber security.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check to the satisfaction of the employer.
All newly hired employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (two weeks after the last required dose) as a condition of employment or obtain approval of a medical or religious exemption prior to their start date. Proof of an exemption or vaccination status will be required during the pre-employment onboarding process. New employees who obtain an exemption from the vaccine mandate for medical or sincerely held religious beliefs may be subject to a weekly testing requirement. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge and experience with implementing and assessing compliance with information technology and privacy protection regulation and standards such as HIPAA, PCI-DSS, CJIS, VA Code and Federal PII protections, and other institutional technology standards and best practices defined by NIST, ISO 27000 series, OWASP, and SANS Top 20 Security Controls. Understanding and experience with network and security architecture, multiple operating system platforms, databases, web applications, and other evolving mobile and cloud technologies, to include but not limited to the following: malware inspection, traditional and application layer firewalls, VPN, identity management systems, data loss prevention, and network and host-based intrusion detection/prevention systems. Experience with identity management and other access controls.
