Primary Purpose

The Project Manager will be responsible for the management of several key PM Knowledge Areas. The scope of these duties will span all phases of the project: Initiation, Planning, Execution, Controlling, and Closing. The job will support the Project Director (the Clinical Research/Project Manager), the Project Team and Project Leadership.

  • Understand the business relevance and strategy of assigned and related projects and provide input as required
  • Responsible and accountable for the management of multiple projects and/or programs to successful outcomes by the application of Project Management Institute Standards (or equivalent), best practices and other applicable PM methods
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the PMO and the research projects
  • Provide status and progress reports on all aspects of the projects
  • Build, foster and leverage key stakeholder relationships
  • Ensure quality-by-design is incorporated into every project activity and deliverable
  • Provide input into business development activities, as needed
  • Provide training, coaching, and mentoring to less experienced project managers and related functions
  • Conduct effective Gap Analysis and Root Cause Analysis
  • Further the development of the PMO and its role within the organization
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline with a minimum 6 years of experience in project management, 10 years total applicable experience preferably in the drug development arena
  • Recognized subject matter expert in Project Management and/or Program Management
  • Ability to create and foster high-performing teams
  • Ability to delegate tasks according to individual/team strengths
  • Able to interpret data with sound judgment and decision-making
  • Able to identify utilize appropriate communication channels to different audiences
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to foster collaborative relationships
  • Ability to work with minimal or no supervision
  • Skilled in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and MS Project
  • PMP certification preferred
