Sparks Group has teamed up with its client, a business management consulting company, and is searching for a motivated Manager. The ideal candidate will have prior cost accounting experience and will possess knowledge of government contract billing. The Manager will have strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting. Responsibilities:
- Prepare period closing reports, conduct account reconciliations and review transactions for accuracy
- Create financial statements and evaluate data, resolve inaccuracies prior to creating statements
- Manage general ledger accruals, account balances, and discover outstanding debts to check for delinquent accounts
- Prepare forensic accounting and special investigations
- Governance, risk, and control (GRC) services related to internal controls, internal audit, and business process reviews/improvements
- Litigation support, including developing expert testimony and damages quantification
- Assist with audit activities, providing the required documentation and materials to external auditors
- Responsible for cash management, cost accounting and contract closeout for various projects
- Asses staff performance and supervise operations to ensure quality results
Qualifications/Background Profile:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related fields
- 5+ years' experience of Big 4 public accounting or government contract consulting
- Licensed CPA in VA or MD
- Ability to sell business, build relationships and leverage networks
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting
- Experience working with financial statements, GL reconciliation and government contracts
- Strong technical skills using Microsoft Office applications, advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency required
- Prior experience with Deltek Costpoint strongly desired
