Multi-Cloud Software Engineer, DevOps (Remote-Eligible)

Capital One's Multi-Cloud Engineering team is hiring, and we're looking for talented DevOps Engineers with a passion for all things Cloud. With a primary focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Azure Platforms we work to make both clouds as feature and capability rich as possible while maintaining unfaltering levels of security. Our team provides an unparalleled opportunity to work with a wide range of technologies being adopted and implemented across Azure, GCP and AWS.

For this role, we are looking for a DevOps Engineer with an interest in those technologies that can dive right and specialize in Azure, GCP, or both as part of our engineering team.

What You'll Do:
  • Collaborate with and across Agile teams to design, architect, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions in Azure and GCP Cloud Platforms to support business initiatives across the company
  • Design and develop cutting-edge solutions, using existing and emerging technology platforms; while promoting a culture of engineering excellence
  • Effectively communicate with and influence key stakeholders across the enterprise, at all levels of the organization
  • Work with application teams, platform teams, and developers with deep experience in Public Cloud, distributed microservices, and full stack systems
  • Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, and mentoring other members of the engineering community
  • Identify, assess, and promote new services for adoption in Azure and GCP, develop preventative and detective controls and tooling to secure those services, and monitor platform infrastructure for compliance
  • Advocate for Capital One's customers and reputation through proactive Risk Management to identify and mitigate risk in our platforms and services, escalating as appropriate to Senior Leadership
  • Integrate Azure and GCP Platforms with Enterprise Tooling and Systems residing in AWS for log aggregation, alerting, monitoring, and deployment pipelines
  • Leverage bash, python, powershell, terraform, cli to manage Azure and GCP Cloud Platforms

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 2 years of experience in DevOps Engineering (Internship experience does not apply)
  • At least 1 year of experience with Cloud Native technologies (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
  • At least 1 year of Unix or Linux system administration experience


Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1+ year of experience in design, implementation, deployment, and support of public cloud services and infrastructure (Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform)
  • 1+ year of experience building infrastructure-as-code using CloudFormation or Terraform
  • 1+ year of experience with container orchestration services including Docker or Kubernetes
  • 1+ year of experience with coding and scripting (Python, Powershell, SQL, Java, JavaScript, Golang, Bash, Perl or Ruby)
  • 1+ year of experience working with Agile Development Practices
