ABOUT THE ROLE

Capital One is looking for a talented Manager to join our Workforce Development Program Team. We are looking for team players who are progressive, team and solution-oriented, are comfortable working in ambiguity, have excellent communication skills, and a proven record of great people leadership.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for developing early career talent and proven experience leading programs and processes in a well-managed way. The ideal candidate will be excited about the opportunity to manage all aspects of program, project management and the overall experience for our CORE development program: Customer Facing Associate Mobility (CFAM).

You will be responsible for running a large scale program, tracking and reporting on progress and flagging impediments. You ensure strategies are connected and that there's the right momentum and stakeholder buy-in as you track against the roadmap. In this role, you possess the confidence and poise to influence and rally teams while maintaining multiple moving parts: presentations, reporting, demos, deep dive sessions, PI planning, crafting and maintaining OKRs, office hours, and scheduling meetings and agendas. You communicate and present to leaders and stakeholders on a regular basis focused on progress reporting, results, needs and requests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a people leader for a team of 2, empowering and inspiring them to deliver their best work each day, establishing a team environment where each team member feels included and valued, and managing all talent and performance management activities
  • Manage stakeholder relationships and influence leaders across partner groups
  • Measure program impact through assessments and data analysis, and make recommendations for enhancements
  • Manage processes, communications, and stakeholder relationships across the lifecycle of the program for 2 cohorts yearly
  • Keep the team on track and driving towards realistic goals
  • Identify risks / impediments and mitigation strategies even to the extent of pushing prioritization and highlighting trade offs


Basic Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification
  • At least 3 years of experience managing development or cohort-based programs that includes project management and customer service
  • At least 3 years of experience in Diversity & Inclusion, Human Resources, Corporate Social Responsibility OR Non-profit Advocacy
  • At least 3 years of experience in Google G Suite applications


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
  • At least 2+ years of experience in People Management
  • At least 3+ years of experience in Program Management or Project Management
  • Demonstrates a proven track record of excellent program management and delivery, bringing the ability to quickly put structure in place to manage work in a dynamic complex environment
  • Demonstrates passion for diversity, equity, and belonging and alignment with DIB initiatives
  • Ability to function in a complex, ambiguous environment with many stakeholders and priorities - ability to multi-task
  • Strong attention to detail and results oriented, ability to meet objectives and handle multiple deadlines and priorities, communicate tradeoffs, provide solutions for identified problems
  • Strong communication, influence, and problem-solving skills across multiple stakeholders and audiences. Ability to think ahead on communication needs, strategy and roll out to keep all parties informed and organized
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Must have the ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision but overall collaborative and positive team player
  • Ability to influence and drive results in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to to think both operationally and strategically
  • Demonstrate good judgment and sensitivity, with diverse audiences
