Duties

In this position, your duties include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Serves as the Section Chief.
  • Directs work through subordinates who function as Program/Project Managers.
  • Initiates and executes very complex administrative and management projects in a portfolio including but not limited to workforce management, performance management, ethics, privacy, and change management.
  • Develops program or administrative reporting systems to serviced organizations including gathering data and analyzing information.
  • Plans and conducts studies regarding NIGMS administrative programs and services.
  • Analyzes impact of new programs in terms of costs and resources required to support varied levels of program operations.

Qualifications

To qualify for this Supervisory Management Analyst position at the GS-0343-14 level, you must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: Leading studies employing qualitative (e.g., focus groups, individual interviews, observations) and quantitative (e.g., surveys, cost-benefit analyses, feasibility studies) assessment methods to evaluate the effectiveness of policies and procedures related to the management and administration of human capital planning, performance management, organizational change, and ethics; performing analytical studies related to management operating procedures and organizational productivity; reviewing and editing administrative standard operating procedures affecting parent and subordinate offices; and, writing official reports to senior management on findings, recommendations, and implementation plans for improvements to administrative operations.

  • This position is eligible for non-local remote work, a position designation where little to no onsite presence is required (e.g., once or twice annually). You may work anywhere in the U.S., including any of the territories. Worksites outside of the U.S. are prohibited. Your pay is determined by the geographically defined pay locality applicable to your approved worksite (e.g., home residence).   • Location of position is negotiable after selection. Your salary will be based upon the locality pay of your work site as determined by law. The selected individuals may work anywhere in the United States, including onsite at NIH's main campus in Bethesda, MD. Work sites outside of the U.S. are prohibited.
