The Sr. System Engineer must possess a complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories and concepts. Working under only general direction, this person must have the ability to provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. The Sr. System Administrator should be able to independently determine and develop an approach to identify solutions.Duties and responsibilities include the following:Examining customer problems and implementing appropriate corrective action to initiate a repair or return.Analyzing recurring problems, annotating, and initiates solutions for preventing reoccurrence.Working with systems and network engineers in implementing enterprise wide systems and technologies.Ability to install and troubleshoot workstations, thin clients, applications, printers/scanners, phones, and various other IT equipment.Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network and systems engineers. Monitors and manages system resources, including CPU usage, disk usage, and response times to maintain operating efficiency. Performs systems security administration functions, including creating user profiles and accounts. Other duties may include: Setting up administrator accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software. Interacts with users regularly. Making recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery.Interacting with customers to handle service inquiries and problems.Providing support to the implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems. Distinguish isolated user problems from enterprise-wide application/system problems.Coordinating with customers and stakeholders to collect data, conduct analysis, develop, and implement solutions associated with incident tickets and requirements.Working within a JIRA ticketing environment. 4+ years of experience in systems administration and end-user support.Required IAT Certs: one or more of the following:Sec+, CASP, CISSPRequired Vendor Cert: one or more of the following: Microsoft, VMWare, Cisco, Netapp, Pure Storage, HP, Dell, Linux+, RedHat.
