As a Tax Accountant on the Finance & Strategy (F) Team, you will be responsible for the preparation of tax workpapers, quarterly and yearly tax estimates and components for the quarterly and year-end income tax provisions for corporate and partnership entities. This position is also responsible for maintaining partnership equity and capital account schedules, ensuring timely tax filings and distributions, and serving as a valued member of the tax department. In addition to an earnest desire to help people, we are looking for the ideal candidate to complement the team's existing talents. For this Tax Accountant role, we are seeking a candidate with proven critical thinking skills and attention to detail to help prepare tax workpapers for corporate and partnership entities including franchise, excise, sale and use, and various other returns. If you have excellent judgment to appropriately prioritize and to adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands with frequent change, delays or unexpected events this may be an opportunity for you! Responsibilities: Prepare quarterly and year-end tax workpapers for corporate and partnership entities including franchise, excise, sale and use, and various other returns Prepare components of the quarterly and year-end income tax provision, including provision-to-return differences Prepare quarterly tax account reconciliations Manage the tax department calendar and ensure filings are filed timely Maintain partnership equity and capital account schedules and track company's tax payments and refund schedules Manage and calculate fixed assets tax depreciation Support outsourced business license and personal property tax returns data requests Computation of accurate and timely tax distributions Assist in resolution of federal, state, and local tax notices and audits Assist in the distribution of Schedule K-1 and state composite election process. Provide support in other areas as requestedRequirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting and a minimum of 2 years of relevant tax experience with some public accounting experience preferredExperience with partnerships, corporations, and indirect taxesStrong Microsoft Excel skills and knowledge of Netsuite and Sage Fixed Asset software, a plusTax accounting experience for the preparation of the company tax provisionExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsPosition requires a high level of confidentialityAbout Edelman Financial EnginesSince 1986, Edelman Financial Engines has been committed to always acting in the best interests of our clients.
