As a Sr. Accounting Analyst, you'll work with an elite team of accounting and finance professionals who are writing the history of our organization and guiding our success as a global industry leader. You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the US as you take on some tough challenges.Primary Responsibilities:Develop, perform and manage the analyses of business and financial metrics as well as performance measuresDevelop and maintain financial reports to clearly communicate actual results, forecasted performance, and variances to plan, forecast and budgetTrack and reconcile provider receivablesPrepare weekly, monthly, and annual financial reporting for state customerWork closely with the business to help develop plans and processes that will improve profitability and cost efficienciesPrepare annual financial plans and quarterly forecasts for the Maryland program, including workforce productivity reviews and FTE forecastsPrepare weekly claims payment reporting to the state customerPrepare bank reconciliations for accounts used for claims paymentsProactively seek opportunities to improve processes and identify areas of improvementParticipate in a wide variety of special projects and evaluate new business opportunitiesTrack and analyze expenditures, identifying trends, variances and potential performance improvement opportunitiesAssist with ad hoc requests You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent work experience 3+ years of financial and/or accounting experienceExperience working collaboratively in a high growth, matrix environmentExperience anticipating accounting, financial reporting, forecasting, and operational issues, assessing their implications, and developing and implementing an appropriate action planIntermediate proficiency with MS Word, ExcelExecutive presence with solid communication and influencing skills (ability to translate highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences)Demonstrated leadership qualities and leadership potentialPreferred QualificationsHealthcare experienceExperience with Hyperion Essbase / Smart ViewPeopleSoft Financials experienceSolid understanding of Income Statement structure and useTo protect the health and safety of our workforce, patients and communities we serve, UnitedHealth Group and its affiliate companies require all employees to disclose COVID-19 vaccination status prior to beginning employment. The salary range for Connecticut/Nevada residents is $72,800 to $129,900.
