Eatons Aerospace sector, Fluid and Electrical Distribution division, is currently seeking a Manual Machinist to join our team on 1st Shift. This position is based at our Beltsville, MD facility. Position Overview: Develops, constructs, and alters a wide variety of jigs, fixtures, and gauges. Performs assignments ranging from the use of ordinary tool room operations to work involving accurate relationships and extremely close tolerances. Plans construction procedures and methods, selecting the proper materials. Identifies and corrects problems in complicated dies and tools. Setup, operate and maintain various tool room machinery (grinders, CNC, lathes, etc.) to make, modify, repair or problem solve tools, fixtures, dies or other machines. Read blueprints when necessary. In this function you will: Reads blueprints/sketches to produce required part specifications. Draw and make revisions to sketches is likely. Works with other shop personnel in supporting the manufacturing of production parts Analyze and solve fixture and tooling problems in manufacturing areas Create soft tooling as necessary to assist other shop personnel in part production Operates and adjusts machining equipment according to guidelines and in a safe manner. Performs set ups and moderate maintenance on equipment. Troubleshoots equipment when required. Maintains proper coolant and oil levels of machines. Utilizes specified gauges to ensure part meets stated tolerances. Participates in continuous improvement projects on the shop floor. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution Minimum of 2 years experience operating manual mills, manual lathes, and/or grinders required. Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Preferred qualifications: Tool and Die experience Experience in custom fabrication 5 + years of experience operating manual mills, manual lathes, and/or grinders preferred.
