Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking a First Line Facility Design Engineering Manager to support our business in Springfield, VA. We are looking for a great performer to join Boeing on an amazing team supporting a US Government customer. This candidate will manage a team of approximately 12 employees in diverse engineering and architectural fields. This team designs and completes new installs, upgrades and construction projects. Position Responsibilities: - Manages and directs the site's design engineering, space management, technical designers and quality control teams - Manages employee activities within the facilities occupation including facilities planning, analysis, property administration, facilities provisioning, engineering, and construction - Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals - Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements - Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, business partners and direct reports - Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes - Participates in equipment make/buy decisions; participates in source selection and provides technical oversight of suppliers - Manages, develops and motivates employees This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at our Springfield, VA. location. This position requires an active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) US Security Clearance with an adjudicated Counterintelligence or Full Scope Polygraph (US Citizenship Required). (A US Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.). Security Clearance/Special Program Access or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position. Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience): - Experience leading a Facilities Project or Design Team or projects Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): - Bachelors degree in Engineering, Architecture or similar design technical field - Experience with process improvement models (eg LEAN/Six Sigma, ISO 9000) - Experience in mechanical, electrical and plumbing concepts of operation, and electrical generation procedures - Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification Relocation: Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
