Adventist Healthcare seeks to hire an experienced Senior Accountant who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.

As a Senior Accountant you will:

• Primarily responsible for the financial operations of Adventist Healthcare Rehabilitation.
• Supports the financial operations of Shady Grove Medical Center and Behavioral Health & Wellness Service working with a Senior Accountant.
• Maintains and controls the accounting records for assigned entities.
• Monitors financial activity captured in the general ledger to ensure the accuracy of reported balances.
• Completes the monthly closing process for assigned entities in accordance with AHC's monthly closing schedule.
• Responsible for the compilation and issuance of a standard set of deliverables in conjunction with the monthly accounting close process.
• Provides actual vs. budget variance analysis on financial statement items.
• Assumes responsibility for internal and external reporting of financial results for assigned entities.
• Responds to customer inquiries with timely and insightful knowledge of operations and accounting activities.
• Provides support for the conduct of AHC's annual audit process.
• Actively participates in the annual budget process on an as needed basis.
• Responsible for ad hoc reporting, including revenue/expense analyses and pro-forma analyses, as needed.
• Demonstrates actions and attitudes that contribute to the achievement of AHC's critical success factors (e.g., best place to work, most extraordinary experience, superior outcomes, financial success for reinvestment, a growing organization vital to the community and valued as a faith-based organization).

Qualifications include:

• Bachelor of Science in Accounting; Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and standards.
• Five years of general ledger accounting experience that includes the preparation and analysis of financial statements and account reconciliations. •Three years of hospital accounting experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products.
• Ability to work independently and handle a multi-task environment.
• Strong customer service, interpersonal skills, professional demeanor, and communication skills.
• Strong stewardship of confidential data.
• Project development, planning and execution.
• Must have and continuously demonstrate good/sound professional judgment.
• Must effectively manage the flow of work required to be performed by staff accountants.
