The University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business is seeking a well-qualified Assistant Director to join the Masters Programs Office. One of 13 schools and colleges located on the University of Maryland, College Park campus, the Smith School is a recognized leader in management research and education for the global economy. The school is consistently ranked among the world’s top business schools by leading business publications such as Business Week, Financial Times, Economist and the Wall Street Journal.

This position is responsible for overseeing the FT MBA program and managing all MBA operations. Duties include: creating and implementing a highly effective customer service framework for all constituents; meeting with student leaders and staff regularly to collect, examine and respond to feedback (including surveys), to generate new ideas and programs, and to create the best experience possible for our students; working closely with other program offices and faculty regarding a range of issues; developing, implementing and improving all aspects of quality and innovation; identifying and implementing best practices. Supporting and enhancing the activities and efforts that impact overall student satisfaction and make sure the Smith School’s FT MBA program is viewed as a top program by the students.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required with 4-7 years progressive experience in a professional environment 2+ years of experience coordinating events, conferences, or management training programs. Preferences: Master’s preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Mature judgement; proven ability to integrate ideas and concepts; proven ability to make effective use of time, plan ahead, and coordinate multiple projects; Highly developed organizational skills and attention to detail; friendly, flexible, service-oriented manner; demonstrated proactive customer service attitude and skills. Proven ability to respond positively to pressures of time and workload; strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and oral communication skills; proficiency with computers, including email and Microsoft Office suite. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team; project management skills; ability to work in a highly independent manner; ability and willingness to work extended hours as required, including evenings and weekends. Ability to travel to off campus locations (Baltimore, Rockville and Washington, DC) as needed.
