Job Summary

Aptive Resources is seeking an Outreach Coordinator with a strong background in strategic communications and education and outreach initiatives to support the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The Outreach Coordinator will support CMS' mission of detecting and reducing fraud, waste, and abuse (FWA), and identifying and preventing improper payments in CMS programs.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented with previous experience supporting government contracts. They have experience developing robust outreach plans and engaging outreach materials. They are a proactive problem solver who works well both independently and as part of a team. The Outreach Coordinator should have extensive event planning, training, and promotion experience to support CMS' mission. The candidate must be committed to providing superior customer service and have a positive and flexible attitude.

The Outreach Coordinator should have experience in healthcare, healthcare marketing, outreach, and/or health education.

This is a Senior-level, full-time position located in Alexandria, VA. This position may also be remote.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Commit to partnering with CMS and focused on overall project quality, and program success.
  • Responsible for demonstrating exemplary strategic communication and problem-solving skills with business owners, peers, management, and contract staff.
  • Responsible for making all operational decisions related to overall project quality.
  • Responsible for exhibiting knowledge, skills, and ability to plan, conduct, adhere to timelines, and supervise work to be completed under this contract.
  • Responsible for exhibiting knowledge of strategic intent and opportunities.
  • Responsible for advising CMS of any difficulties arising from the administration of the contract.
  • Responsible for interfacing, both orally and via written communication, with the Government and contractor management in the planning and control of this project.
  • Translating agency strategy into tangible executable actions and deliver the results needed to satisfy the vision supporting the strategy.


Minimum Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience planning and facilitating webinars, conferences, and trainings.
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, management, marketing, public relations, or business administration.
  • Consulting experience supporting large, complex Cabinet-level federal agencies.
  • Availability to work full time in Alexandria, V.A. and/or a telework environment.


Desired Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in a related field
  • Ability to get up to speed quickly on complex issues; desire to work in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment.
  • Capable self-starter with a drive to get all types of work done and high attention to detail.
  • Prior experience working with the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services
