Madison Street nBaltimore, MD 21205 nn n2401 Liberty Heights Avenue nSuite 302 nBaltimore,MD 21215 n Main Purpose of Job The role of the Employment Specialist is to recruit and locate training opportunites for older workers in the Maryland Senior Community Service Employment Program. Specialist will assist trainees in leaning new skills and to locate unsubsidized employment following completion of training assignment. POSITION DUTIES Target, screen and recruit 55 years and older adults for the Senior Community Service Employment Program n nDetermine the income eligibility of the applicants using 125% of the Health & Human Service poverty guidelines for the initial enrollment and re certification. nOrient and train program participants and host agency supervisors on the program policies and procedures. Recruit and establish new partnerships with non-profit organizations and State and local government agencies in assigned area nPromote and facilitate the transition of participant trainees from training assignments to unsubsidized employment with non-profits, for-profits and State agencies. nn MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Experience: Three years of experience in administrative staff or professional work. nNotes: n1.Candidates may substitute 30credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year of the required experience. n2. Candidates may substitute US Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer involving staff work requiring regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting rules and regulations in accordance with agency laws and policieson a year-for-year basis for the required experience. n SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS nAt least 6 months of customer service experience nn DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of recruitment. nKnowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. nAbility to coordinate activities and events. nAbility to engage with local businesses, non-profits and government agencies. nAbility to establish and maintain effective work relationships. n SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS Candidates may be responsible for providing their own transportationas needed to access meetings, remote locations, and job destinations as assigned. nnn nAll candidates are subject to a background check against files maintained by the Division of Unemployment Insurance (MDOL/DUI) to determine whether any monies are owed to MDOL/DUI as a result of an unemployment insurance over paymentand/or fraud.
