For the third year in a row, American Banker named Capital Bank one of the Best Banks to Work For in the US Position Purpose The Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) partners with the Executive Management Team (EMT), Board of Directors (BOD), and other key leaders to plan and implement successful marketing strategies to grow all business lines for the Bank. The role develops an end-to-end marketing function that delivers messaging, branding, digital presence, product support, demand generation, content, research, and thought leadership. As the Marketing leader for the organization, the CMO provides the overall vision, leadership, strategy, and execution of all marketing programs and initiatives. Position Responsibilities Builds and develops the teams and technology required to collect, test, measure, and analyze marketing metrics necessary to identify trends in the marketplace, program effectiveness, and consumer behavior. Partners with line of business leaders to ensure marketing programs and advertising expenditures support company revenue and growth objectives. In support of the overall company strategy, develop the marketing strategy, the roadmap and plan for its execution, and own the execution of the plan Collaborate with Business Lines, IT, Operations, HR, Finance, Product, Data, and Compliance/Risk to integrate company vision into all aspects of day-to-day Lead and empower a high-performing, collaborative team of marketers across brand, performance, communications and PR, content, product marketing, and lead generation. Drive vision and oversee efforts across these functions. Ensure each brand in the portfolio has an ownable positioning strategy and is communicated in a compelling and consistent manner across all channels and touchpoints. Instill a customer first mindset, developing a data informed position on who current and target customers are, and implementing strategies and tactics that help us acquire and retain valuable customers. Partner with division leads, develop and maintain robust pipeline for the business to meet business revenue and growth objectives; put in place the necessary automation and reporting to support this effort. Lead the overall planning, development and alignment of products across our brands to increase salience for our customers, partners, prospects, and the press Nurture the creativity of the marketing department, spurring innovative marketing ideas that will help attract and retain more customers and lead back to increased sales growth. Own messaging in partnership with division leads to stay ahead of market trends, create a constant feedback loop with our customers needs, and establish differentiated market positioning Collaborate with business leadership to set KPIs and manage against those KPIs; establish Objectives and Key Results (OKR)s for the marketing teams, aligned across other key areas of the business including sales, product and finance. Lead market research, analysis, and competitive intelligence initiatives to identify potential new markets for growth opportunities. Deploy and optimize a cutting-edge marketing automation stack to ensure scalable and cost-effective marketing operations processes with demonstrable ROI. Create and maintain an active network of marketing partnerships to enable marketing execution. Cultivate and advance the level of talent in the organization, and organize the marketing team for successful execution. Oversee internal communications to ensure all employees are updated on key company messages and clearly understand the brands vision and values. Set external communications strategy and plan in partnership with Management Team to share the Capital Bank story and achievements with external constituents (including PR, press releases, social media, etc.) and execute on that plan. Manage the marketing budget, including suggested allocation of spend to achieve company targets. Mentors and coaches direct reports within the team to help develop them for future roles and provide proper succession. Manages performance of the team and conducts performance reviews within the processes of the Bank. The position requires a Bachelors degree and equivalent years of experience working in an executive/senior level marketing role. Experience within banking and/or financial services sectors is desired. Outstanding and proven direct response, analytical, and project/campaign management skills preferably within comparable/related industry. Segmentation marketing experience preferred. Previous supervisory experience. Ability to coach, mentor, develop and lead a team of experienced professionals. Technical Knowledge and Skills Microsoft office software suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc) Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to prioritize in a multi-task environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to be flexible and professional under deadlines. Self-motivated and proactive.
