Summary

USAID M/MPBP functions as the Bureau for Management's central unit for the Agency's operating expense budget planning and implementation, management policy formulation, operational performance monitoring and assessment, administrative support services, and compliance and oversight to implement the USAID suspension and debarment program.

Within M/MPBP, the Office of the Director works closely with M Bureau and Agency leadership on a wide range of M Bureau and Agency policies, initiatives, and activities, including supporting the agency in achieving the Journey to Self-Reliance, Transformation objectives, planning and executing the Agency operating expense budget, setting and monitoring performance management goals, interpreting and integrating federal and agency policies, OMB guidance, and regulations.

M/MPBP/OD also directly supports the Office of the Assistant Administrator for the Bureau for Management as needed, maintains the Performance Improvement Officer role, leads the Management Operations Council (MOC), including the M Bureau communications function and Partner Vetting oversight.

This Communications Specialist position is within the Office of the Director.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with developing communication strategies in collaboration with the Communications Director.
  • Strategically develop and disseminate communication materials to promote M Bureau activities and products in accordance with Agency messaging and branding guidance.
  • Support general marketing and communication plans and campaigns
  • Assist with creating outreach materials for Agency-wide distribution.
  • Support responses to customer feedback and engages in the development and implementation of customer service plans related to the communications function.
  • Assist with Congressional reports taskings, editing, and tracking.
  • Assist with Congressional inquiries and legislative reference feedback consolidation.
  • Support Management Operations Council meetings, including agenda development, presenter coordination, document clearances, and physical meeting logistics.
  • Support bureau workshops and brownbag activities promoting M Bureau products and services, like Management Mondays.
  • Connect employees to communication resources, services, and tools to meet their specific needs.
  • Maintain timely and accurate records and status of tasks.
  • Provide technical support to other M Bureau offices as necessary to accommodate customer services standard.
  • Support other M Bureau communications activities as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field
  • 5+ years of professional communications or public relations experience is required
  • 2+ years of experience in graphic design for print and online communications products is required
  • Background check required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Master's degree in a related field is preferred.
  • A secret clearance or the ability to obtain one is preferred.
  • 2+ years of development or international affairs experience preferred.
  • Webpage maintenance experience, particularly Drupal, is strongly preferred.
