Summary This position reports directly to, and serves as, a senior advisor to the Assistant Director, Office of Community Affairs (CA), Consumer Education Office (CE), and is responsible for managing and performing a range of policy development, programmatic, research, coordination, and collaborative activities to facilitate the office's mission to help educate, empower, and protect low- and moderate-income consumers with special focus on formerly incarcerated individuals. Responsibilities As a Senior Policy Analyst, you will:Assist with the development of CA's long- and short-range work plans and objectives to support the statutory mandates and goals, as well as the mission, objectives, and strategic plans of CE and CFPB.Stay abreast of laws, regulations, and policies internal and external to CFPB to assess relevancy, impact on CA education programs directed at economically vulnerable consumers and with special focus on formerly incarcerated individuals.Advise the CA team on current or evolving topics and events related to consumer financial issues, services, products, and markets affecting economically vulnerable populations including formerly incarcerated individuals. Some of these issues may be sensitive and highly visible.Maintain contact with internal and external stakeholders (Federal, State, and local government and non-profits organizations) to monitor developments and emerging issues in the consumer financial protection arena, identify barriers to opportunities for low-income and other economically vulnerable populations, assess the impact on the development and implementation of policy proposals, and coordinate government-wide responses to topics of mutual interest.Travel RequiredOccasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.Promotion Potential60Supervisory StatusNo
