Responsibilities: As a Federal Accounting Associate Director on our Public Sector Financial Services team, you will lead multiple complex workstreams across multiple clients to optimize their financial operations. Specific responsibilities include:Apply advanced technical expertise and skills to implement business solutionsProvide direction to multiple project teams and interact with government personnelApply accounting research and provide clear and concise guidance to Federal Government clients that is rooted in laws and regulationsLead key leadership meetings by preparing and presenting briefing materials, participating in discussion, documenting major decisions, and capturing and tracking action itemsProvide strategic guidance and technical assistance for audit preparation and remediation efforts (eg, develop integrated enterprise strategies; develop, implement, and validate corrective action plans)Monitor and provide feedback on audit remediation efforts/plans executed by various organizationsAdvise clients on compliance issues, assessing compliance risks and controls, implementing compliance supervisory and control solutionsSupport ad hoc requests such as researching topical accounting/auditing issues, developing and reviewing position papers, providing integration support, etc.Identify ways to improve efficiency and effectiveness of financial business processesDaily responsibility for project team activities, high-quality project deliverables, and client relationship managementProvide coaching and feedback to junior team membersConvey ideas clearly in an oral and written manner, both one-on-one and in small groupsConduct research to investigate client problems and work collaboratively with your team to formulate and recommend solutionsAssist clients in analyzing projects and programs to identify risks and help develop, apply, and monitor mitigationsSupport clients in collecting and analyzing data, producing models and visualizations, and draw conclusions from the data to improve decision-makingAnalyze and help develop and/or improve policies and procedures for a variety of programs and operational needsIn addition to client-facing responsibilities, this role will support important activities that contribute to the growth of our business, strengthen internal Guidehouse operations, and create a positive work environment for all Guidehouse employees. Some of these activities include but are not limited to:Actively participate in business development activities, such as identifying potential client needs and ways Guidehouse can assist, develop proposals and white papers, participate in client and internal account meetings, and moreParticipate in Guidehouse's programs for coaching and mentoring staffDevelop learning and development materials, courses, and presentations to help Guidehouse employees expand and strengthen their skillsLead Guidehouse programs and initiatives Qualifications: Required: Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited United States college or university in Business, Accounting or FinanceAbility to obtain Public Trust security clearanceYears of Experience: Candidate must have a minimum of eight years of full-time experience with progressive experience providing consulting services to Federal Government agencies or Fortune 500 companies, within the CFO or similar officeExperience in financial statement compilation and reporting process as well as audit response and remediation in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and/or Statements of Federal Financial Accounting Standards (SFFAS)Federal accounting knowledge, including the United States Standard General Ledger (USSGL), Treasury Financial Manual, OMB Circulars A-11 and A-136Federal audit support, audit liaison, corrective action planning, and remediationAbility to lead full project execution, including in a client-facing role, with a strong commitment to quality and standardizationStrong written and verbal communication skillsProficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and ExcelSignificant attention to detailDemonstrated knowledge of business development practices and interest in growing a businessCPA strongly preferredPreferred: Relevant certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Government Financial Management (CGFM), Certified Internal Controls Auditor (CICA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE)Familiarity with Federal Government lending and financial assistance programsUnderstanding of OMB and GAO requirements related to internal controls as well as Federal Manager's Financial Integrity Act (FMFIA) Additional Requirements: The successful candidate must not be subject to employment restrictions from a former employer (such as a non-compete) that would prevent the candidate from performing the job responsibilities as describedDue to our contractual requirements, to be eligible for this role, you must be fully COVID-19 vaccinated at time of hireWhile this role is available virtually, strong preference will be candidates local to Washington, DC.The compensation range for this role is $140,000-$195,000 depending on experience and location.
