A$ A' "A' ?Company DescriptionThe Vertex Companies, LLC (VERTEX) is a leading multidisciplinary engineering and consulting firm that provides forensic consulting, engineering design, construction management, claims & dispute resolution, environmental, and digital solutions to insurance carriers, sureties, law firms, real estate owners, property managers, public agencies, and commercial clients.Job DescriptionReporting to the Senior Vice President - Health and Safety (H&S), the Health and Safety Manager will enjoy collaborating with team members across the organization at all levels, to advance our health, safety, and risk management programs and culture.The Health & Safety Manager will work with the H&S Team to develop and implement programs that deliver high-performance Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) solutions for our employees.This position will provide guidance and support to site management, program owners, and personnel across multiple project sites, facilities, and offices across North America.They will have an impact by helping to ensure compliance with company and regulatory expectations, policies, procedures, and programs.Core ResponsibilitiesIdentify, address, and mitigate health and safety exposures.Advise leadership on strategies and consistently model behaviors that advance the company culture.Develop health and safety policies, programs, and procedures.Develop and conduct in-person and virtual training sessions in compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.Engage colleagues on work sites to promote Vertex's H&S culture and best management practices and ensure regulatory compliance.Ensure that EH&S safety incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions are recorded, analyzed, and mitigated properly.Assist in insurance-related matters, including workers' compensation and other areas of our risk management program.Conduct and lead EH&S audits across Vertex offices and client sites globally.Other tasks and special projects as assigned by Senior Leadership.QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Environmental Health and Safety or similar disciplineAt least eight(8) years of experience working with EH&S culture, compliance and management systems, preferably in an AEC company.Working knowledge and experience implementing OSHA and regulatory requirements that apply to the AEC industry; knowledge of Canadian and Mexican H&S requirements a plus.Experience leading technical and cultural H&S programs, particularly with mid-sized companies.Knowledge of incident management and insurance claims oversight.Ability to evaluate the effectiveness of site-specific Health and Safety Plans.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking to large audiences.Prior experience assessing and integrating companies' H&S programs (M&A).Strong client management skills.Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.Proficient in MS Office Suite and online presentation applications.Flexible to travel to client sites and Vertex locations (25-35%) and adjust work schedule to support multiple time zones.OSHA 10 or 30-hour Construction Safety Seminar certification, and 40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER training seminar required.Ability to handle physical requirements of working within various site conditions, including carrying equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.Additional InformationAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.VERTEX offers a solid total compensation package including base salary and discretionary bonus plan.
