Job DescriptionSalary: Apparatus Repair & Engineering, Inc. (AR&E) has been involved in the community for over 25 years. We specialize in electric motors, pumps, generators, and controls. We are looking for a talented controls specialist to join our team. As a controls specialist for AR&E you will apply innovative, analytical and problem solving skills, with strong attention to detail and customer focus to repair industrial controls and implement hardware and software programs to ensure optimal equipment safety, reliability and efficiency. Description of the broad function & scope of position: Supervise installation, operation, and maintenance of control systems Interact with vendors and contractors during equipment installs and upgrades Develop proper preventative maintenance procedures to ensure controls systems and equipment function accords to specification Interpret blueprints, schematics and technical drawings Communicate project schedules and align outage and shutdown needs with team members Provide support, including troubleshooting manufacturing process and equipment Supply technical information and guidance to the customers for spare parts, predictive maintenance to increase equipment reliability. Must be willing to work in shop and field Perform basic test of electromechanical equipment and document accordingly Operate megger, surge tester, volt-ohm meter, growler, amp meters, and micrometer as needed Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner Responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of products to customers Qualifications & Competencies:Able to perform basic math functions, and able to understand, perform and retain various job related training, operations, and safety procedures. Able to work overtime and weekends as needed. A high school diploma or GED is required. Must have a valid driver's license, DOT physical card or be willing to obtain a DOT physical card. You must own your own basic mechanical tools and have an ability to use a forklift and overhead crane.
