The Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst position will support Appian's FP&A function in the production of financial and operational reports and key metrics. Responsibilities of the position may include the financial review of customer or subcontractor consulting contracts, customer contract processing, assisting with the creation of revenue and/or expense plans and forecasts, and responding to ad hoc financial reporting requests from leadership. This position will work closely with the Director of FP&A, as well as key members across Appian's various departments.

*Candidates must be willing to come into the McLean, VA office on a hybrid schedule*

To be successful in this role, you need:
  • Experience as a frequent user of the Microsoft Office product suite, especially Excel. Excel skills should include advanced technical experience, including creating pivot tables and the ability to write formulas for lookups and other functions
  • Attention to detail and strong time management skills, with the ability to multi-task under time pressure while meeting time-sensitive deadlines
  • Ability to exercise discretion related to the reporting of Appian's actual and forecasted financial results
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with peers and management
  • Motivation and the ability to grow and develop within the finance organization
  • Knowledge of Salesforce and/or Anaplan would be beneficial

Basic Qualifications:
  • B.S. in Business Administration, or Finance
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in each of the following categories: 1) Finance, 2) Microsoft Excel
